  1. The deadline figure of 75-80m is of quorum. With less support from hardcore fans, this movie will behave like a DC movie. So I think 40–50 m OW is more likely than 70–80 m.
  2. Some people have pre-decided not to watch the film. Like it or not, this is the reality. And because of this alone, the ceiling of this film is reduced from 350m to 170-190m
  3. That post credit scene was for Avengers movie or some World War Hulk movie.
  4. From where are they getting these numbers? Is this movie going to have 14x+ IM with 5m in previews or 10x+ IM with 7m in previews?
  5. She isn't going anywhere—not until Avengers 6. Her future in the MCU whether she'll get another solo movie or not—will depend on her role in the next two Avengers movies. If these movies make the character popular, she could get another movie after that, and if they are unable to make her popular like Endgame, then Disney won't spend another $300 million on her movie. All this confusion started when, last year, she said to Variety, "Does anyone want me to do it again?" But to THR last year, around the same time, she said that The Marvels is just the beginning of her phase in the MCU, and the movie is about her realizing that she can't do everything alone and that she needs the help and support of others to get work done. Though once The Marvels flops, the discourse around the Brie & the character will be very toxic for another few months to a year.
  6. Marvel Studios was desperate to make Ms. Marvel popular; they wanted people to watch the Ms. Marvel show, so they released a Ms. Marvel-focused first trailer. This is what Feige said last year about The Marvels: “It makes me excited that people will, I hope, see that movie and then go back and revisit those shows on Disney+." They realized their mistake too late and are now focusing on Captain Marvel in marketing. Another stupidity was that they released a second trailer with the same Beastie Boys soundtrack. At least release a trailer with the original soundtrack, goddamn. I can point out a dozen mistakes made by Marvel Studios regarding this movie and its lead character, and we can have 10-page discussions on each mistake.
  7. DOM OW 35-50, total 80-120m OS OW 35-50, total 70-110m WW total 150-230m
  8. Why would MCU male fans (those who hate Captain Marvel) not like BW? They know she is a supporting character in the overall MCU narrative, and they don't feel threatened or insecure by supporting female characters, whereas they feel insecure by Captain Marvel. They don't want her to get the same or more importance than male characters, so there is disinterest in watching her movie. If you go to Reddit or other social platforms, you'll notice this. A MCU movie can't go this low (5-7m in previews) unless there is a boycott from a large section of MCU fans. Now what should Marvel Studios have done in such a situation? They should have either announced her lead or one of the leads of the next Avengers movie if she is actually going to lead Avengers(so that GA take more interest in the character), and if she isn't going to lead Avengers, then they should've made it clear to those male fans.
  9. Ms. Marvel S02 chances were already low after Ms. Marvel flopped, but they are doing the Young Avengers D+ series with Iman Vellani as lead, if you know those leaks. And they could also do a movie or a TV show with Blue Marvel and Monica, as producer Nate Moore had teased their romance. It seems like they used Captain Marvel/Brie Larson as a plot device to set up the future of Ms. Marvel and Monica in the MCU, and made her future uncertain in the MCU. They are calling her The Annihilator in The Marvels, so maybe they do a Disney+ series with her with Rocket and Groot.
  10. How much would Barbie have made at the box office if the movie name was "The Fantasy Land" instead of Barbie, even if people had known this movie is about Barbie? Brand IP matters
  11. Even the current Vice President of the USA was excited for the movie when the movie name was "Captain Marvel 2". Nia's Captain Marvel 2 announcement tweet had around 350k likes. What a missed opportunity!
  12. Ok if you think that's repetitive I won't post that again lol. I've already said enough about this movie.
  13. Neither you nor I can say anything with certainty about what's going to happen in Avengers movies: who is the lead? Who will lead the Avengers? Whether it would be Captain Marvel, who is leading Avengers in comics currently, Captain America, who is at the forefront of the D+ Marvel banner, or the most popular character, Spider-Man, we can only assume right now. They would have never imagined that the Marvels would do this badly. What if she already has a contract with Marvel Studios as the lead character? If she has a contract and they want to change it, then she'll demand compensation. So until they give clarity about Avengers movies, nothing can be said for certain. We can only assume.
  14. Few definitely, but changing the title gave people the impression that she is an irrelevant character, and Marvel has lost faith in this character, and that's what hurt it the most.
  15. This should be the only wish of MCU fanboys that Brie Larson doesn't get 1st or 2nd billing in the next Avengers movies; their interest in the next Avengers movies will depend on this lol
  16. They plan their next storyline 5-10 years in advance. And also as per THR Brie Larson made 7 movies contract with Marvel Studios & we don't know whats written in her contract.
  17. How can you say for sure that Captain Marvel doesn't represent a vision of the future? The Marvels production company name is "Warbird," and do you know who had the biggest role in Kang Dynasty comics? The answer is Warbird (Carol Danvers). I think Brie already has a contract with Marvel Studios for Avengers as a lead or one of the lead characters. She will demand heavy compensation and bleed them a lot if they try to change that lol
  18. A large number of hardcore fans are boycotting this movie for reasons we all know, but casual fans are also not interested because they think the lead character is Shazam of the MCU, a very less important and irrelevant character. The movie was destined to flop once they decided not to tell the audience whether she is a big character or not.
  19. I hope @Shawn gives 30-40m of long-range projection. At least the movie would get some talk online by this lol
  20. I am talking about total cost. It's 220m budget is net budget & then when we include video cost, tax, participations & residuals it's total cost will go above 300m lol.
  21. Ms. Marvel, Nick Fury & Captain Marvel are balancing the MCU. Ms. Marvel budget 200m approx Secret Invasion budget 212m The Marvels budget 270-300m Total budget 700m So whatever they gain from MoM, L&T & GOTG3 they lost from Ms. Marvel, SI & The Marvels- all flops.
  22. End of the character in MCU. If Brie Larson already has contract with Marvel studios for Avengers & if they want to remove her from MCU then she will demand a heavy compensation. She'll bleed them even more lol.
