  1. At most I see OS +China around 150-160M. Not saying it’s not possible to crack $200M OS but given the recent run of CBMs, I’m not willing to put money of that
  2. I’d see it more likely getting a B+ as many of the issues in Lost Kingdom are largely the same issues found in Black Adam. Forgettable villains, predictable, cliche, trope ridden with no stakes
  3. Nope. No one of real importance dies unless you count Manta and Necrus. and even then their deaths are so anticlimactic
  4. In this current environment, I can almost guarantee that Superman:Legacy isn’t a guaranteed hit. Despite Gunn’s prior success, I don’t see S:L being a smash hit. When taking into account the growing apathy for Comic Book projects overall (MCU and DC) as well as DC long history of haphazard results and that Creature Commandos comes out next year, there’s not enough room for a reset to people back on board. Yes Gunn is talented but ask anyone outside of film twitter and Letterboxd and Reddit, the GA don’t know or care who Gunn is
  5. That’s so true but I honestly don’t see Gunn being able to ignore those individuals even if he wanted to. I wouldn’t want to be in his position and I grew up on DC and wanting it to succeed but Gunn’s tendency to react to any and every little thing or person as well as apathy for DC films as well as CBMs in general is going to be quite the climb for him and WB/DC. The landscape has clearly changed towards CBMs and I think Gunn is going to face what many facets of media have faced before, one minute you’re hot, the next you’re not. Hell if anything Gunn may encounter what David Lee Roth encountered when he went solo from Van Halen
  6. If the DC universe and superhero films in general were in a better shape with GA, I could envision $4M but too many DC film misfires as well as the overall downturn for CBM, I see at most $3.5M in previews. I could be surprised but at the moment I can’t see $4M in previews
  7. Just got out of it about 10 minutes ago. It’s a beautiful mess. It’s so trope ridden and telegraphed that I found myself disconnected emotionally from the film. Think if you threw into a cinematic blender, Tomb of The Dragon Emperor, 2008’s Journey to The Center of The Earth, Thor:Dark World and Love &Thunder, with Quantumania thrown in with dashes of the first Aquaman, push the button and voila and you get this film. if you’re able to lower your expectations and turn your brain off, I guess it could be a fine film but with the latest run of CBMs, fun just ain’t gonna be enough, maybe if it was released a year the first Aquaman, I could see fun being enough but not now
  8. I wouldn’t put too much stock into it as generally fans on any established franchise are going to overwhelming rate in a positive light and it’s from such a small sample that viewing it as a bellweather for things to come is not wise
  9. Aquaman (2018) social media and review embargo dates announced The first social media reactions were released on Monday, November 26th, at 2pm PT, while the full reviews were released on Tuesday, December 11th, at 11 am PT. Aquaman 2’s review and social media embargoes being lifted not just hours before the first shows in the US but when the film is already playing in a handful of markets is more than enough confirmation that WB/DC have very little confidence
  10. Actually framing a film’s budget in the manner and intent you have been doing is the agenda 😂😂😂
  11. You just proved my point 😂😂😂it’s kind of embarrassing at this point. Instead of answering the question you deflected it by bringing in different outlets which had nothing to do with the question.
  12. Marvel has stated over and over that they bake reshoots into the productions so unless the have essentially reshot the film ala Justice League 2017, it’s highly doubtful that the cost has significantly shot up
  13. Judging by your recent posts. It seems you harbor quite the agenda towards Disney films especially female led ones. You clearly have no idea how budgets work judging by your commentary which right out of the gate has quite the agenda attached to it
  14. If you think my commentary is praise for the film, it ain’t. 😂😂😂😂 but if you go watch it, go in with extremely low expectations. Just expect a generic and coherent film. Like a lukewarm hot dog at a late night store.
  15. Just got back from it. It passed the time but BB just reinforced that the genre overall has to vastly improve. It was as if DC threw Iron Man, Spider-Man:Homecoming, Venom, Ms. Marvel into an AI blender and last minute threw way too much DC lore in the mix and poof came out Blue Beetle.
  16. If it was released during the height of the summer season or Christmas, I could see it happening but not now with its release spot and schools slowly coming into session again. Not to mention losing PLFs in a week
  17. Have tickets even gone on sale for Blue Beetle in SK and/or China? I’ve looked just about everywhere to see if tickets indeed went on sale but all I’ve been able to find is the confirm HK release and nothing more
  18. Maybe it would help if the review embargo wasn’t dropping the same day as the film rolls out internationally but WB dropped the ball big time and it doesn’t help that with DC’s overall track record, general knowledge that DC is rebooting and the overall confusion of DC’s direction (Gunn stating BB is the first DCU character yet Legacy is the first film is the new DCU is quite the word salad) if this film has been released when DC was off to a high start, it would be quite successful but given everything that has happened with the brand over the years and the strikes that are occurring as well as losing PLF’s one week later ain’t helping the film’s chances of success
  19. If the review embargo wasn’t dropping the same day as the film’s international rollout, I’d agree that it would indeed benefit Blue Beetle but given DC films’ General track record critically and audience wise, as well as the ongoing strikes, Blue Beetle is DOA
  20. This is one of the most lukewarm reactions that Erik has ever put out that I can recall.
  21. The social media reactions are oddly mirroring that of Shazam 2 so I wouldn’t hold my breath on big boost. If reactions didn’t help The Flash, they ain’t helping Blue Beetle.
