I did not know Box Office Mojo saved the old articles after the redesign! Although admittedly I didn't like that he would trash certain genres/movies, such as horror. I liked reading his analysises however.

Damn I didn't think this would open similarly to pirates 5. Kinda sad to see, I thought even it wasn't all that great that surely Indiana Jones would have more excitement just in the brand than this. I guess Indy just doesn't have the same generational interest that some other older brands have, where people will come out in mass regardless of quality.
I know my generation much prefers POTC. Rightfully so, in my opinion....(I say that as a fan of Indy).

I had a sort of similar experience with The Boogeyman. For the first thirty minutes there were these annoying kids in the front row that were talking and using their phones until they ran out.
Here’s what weird thought: my uncle and aunt saw the movie a few weeks later, and the same thing happened to them. When they brought it up to management, they said it was apparently a trend going on in local theaters with this movie in particular and it’s happened several times.
There were very talkative teens that ruined my experience for The Boogeyman too! That was the worst theater experience I've had!

I have brought this up before, but there has never been a period in Disney history where their animation department struggling hasn’t led to a huge downturn/rough time for the whole company. Quite literally never. That’s always a harbinger for them.
Your MCU stuff doesn’t add up either, since the only ones that have been a true success for them since EG are No Way Home, Shang Chi, and Guardians. 2/3 are the era ending I was talking about, and Guardians wouldn’t have been a hit at all if it didn’t have some insane WOM. Proving how damaged MCU really is.
You wouldn't consider Dr. Strange 2, Thor 4, and BP 2 successes at the box office?!

How on Earth did this only gross 5 million opening weekend?!
-
Yeah this looks like a fun movie to watch. I'm in.

Dead Man's Chest is my favorite of the series. I hear much love of that and AWE from people my age.

What we really need is A Bug's Life 2. The first is an underappreciated classic. Plus, I could see a sequel being a locked modest hit, even if the ceiling isn't very high.

Says the guy that was comparing GotGV3 box office to The Suicide Squad and that is maybe the biggest Transformers apologist on this board. It won't win the summer... That's obvious now. But, sheesh, you sure run your mouth a lot for someone that's wrong by a lot very, very often.
The new Transformers may outgross Indy worldwide, and at least be a more memorable film.

So I just found out that the new Fast and Furious movie released this weekend. The opening weekend numbers don't seem too shabby, considering how this is the 10th movie in the franchise. I'm guessing another financial win for Universal. The (Hoover Dam?) scene in the trailers looks really cool.

Nice, I'm there day one. I wish sci fi was more popular.

This looks fun as fuck. I hope to see more of the fictional prehistoric squids! One appears to attack one of the divers in the trench.

I've realized that the last film I've seen from Paramount in theaters was Gemini Man back in 2019.
Are there any Major studios any of you haven't seen a movie from in theaters for a very long time?

We just had a 2 billion hit film with an animal rights message. I'm glad that the topic is being approached in big blockbusters now.

Yeah. How dare they make a Transformers film that pleases the people who made the franchise a shit load of money in the first place.
Ehh I was a bit rude in my first reply. I am happy that fans of the original series are excited, and I hope they enjoy the movie.

It wasn't them who made the Bay series a hit however.

At least there is a good cast for this one. Let's see how it turns out.

Damn that's a good trailer. I must admit that the transformations here look really slick. I'm not into the beasts, but Unicron is awesome.

I love reading it. Maybe I was wrong about Gunn directing Superman. I was worried he'd use a similar tone to the Marvel movies. I like that he is making Superman a universal savior that optimistically believes in the future of humanity.

The Meg 2 description sounds awesome!! I can not wait to see this on the big screen. They definitely needed a big variety of new creatures to show off, and it seems like they did the job right.
I actually liked The Nun more than most, but I don't think I can stomach another Conjuring Universe film after Annabelle Comes Home....

That Meg 2 description sounds wild!!!! I can not wait to see a trailer. I don't want to wait any longer!

Bring back the Bay designs and I'd be greatly interested. The current designs, while more accurate to the cartoons, are just too childish to take seriously in my opinion. Although to be fair, I haven't been following this movie, but I'd guess it's targeted to a younger audience than Bay's films. But that would mean a lower box office ceiling....

Please let's not get tacky over people's looks.
Any test screening/insider information on this film?

Yeah, I like Dracula's creature design. This is now easily one of my most anticipated movies for the rest of the year.

I hear the film takes shots at Michael Bay?
