I wish they had went with the Bay designs. These designs will not draw in teenagers.

To be honest as a huge sci fi fan, I'm not going to go out of my way to watch a sci fi movie from Disney. I would rather they stick to their more traditional fantasy shtick.
That being said, looking back, Tron Legacy's box office run actually seems quite impressive.

Big Hero 6 was a box office hit though, I wonder why a sequel was never made? It made more than Wreck it Ralph did, yet Ralph got the sequel.

I have to laugh that these news comes right as Disney is about to unleash what is expected to be a major write-off with Strange World. I'm guessing Chapek will still be made the fall guy for that one.
I had to remind myself right now what Strange World is. I'm guessing everybody is expecting the film to flop?

I really like the concept, but the trailer makes the film seem too formulaic in my opinion.

The humor is awful, and the action scenes look boring as heck. I was hoping this movie would be good (against all odds), but this looks like another Warcraft, on a smaller scale.

I liked Moonfall. I liked Doninion. I liked Death on the Nile.
I could not like Black Adam. Man.... at least the action scenes were great. Didn't care for the message either, especially in wake of the Russian Invasion of Ukraine.
Nobody clapped during the movie, and the theater was mostly empty.
But again, I loved the action scenes, and would see a sequel.
As for as this year's CBM's, Batman and Dr. Strange 2 were much better imo, I really enjoyed those two.

Is movie worth seeing in IMAX?
I hope and think the movie can reach 69 mil in actuals.

(I haven't seen this yet)
Reading the plot summary, I am really interested in the character's Corey arc. I am sure they reduced Michael's screentime since he's been way overdone, but perhaps he should have been in another scene or two. I will definitely have to watch this, I like the "Michael turns Corey to the dark" plot.

How come Halloween Kills was so badly received? I just read what the final scene in the movies was, I can see that being a little controversial among fans.
I skipped it as I thought 2 sequels after the 2018 was just milking the series to death. I thought the 2018 film should have been one and done deal.
To be fair, what I'm reading about Halloween Ends I'm actually really intrigued by.

So greater chance at it going under 60 than over?
EDIT: Yeah, seems more likely doing the math. Hopefully it pans out at least like Skull Island did.

I wonder if the five year wait will hurt the movie. I wonder why it's taken so long. I'm assuming due to being reliant on DC's plans, plus CGI work, and that "other" factor?

Even though Shazam didn't set the BO on fire, it had a very good reception from critics and audience. That's why it's getting a sequel. They know there's potential there. If Black Adam does average numbers, that combined with a supposedly mediocre reception, puts it in danger of not getting the sequel. But let's wait before we bury it
Plus, Adam has a much bigger budget than Shazam did.

As somebody who didn't care for the first, this looks really good to me!! I am excited as heck.
Then again, I thought the trailers for the first were great too....
What are we expecting for this box office wise? I think over 400 mil, maybe around 425

I think Aquaman 2 box office falls hard from the first.
The novelty of the first will be gone, plus Avatar 2, The Meg 2, Little Mermaid, and Black Panther 2 will have satiated audiences thirst for underwater movies.
That being said, I hope it's good!

I'm seeing this mainly for the post credits scene. Hopefully it leads somewhere in the future....

main question is why hire the writer of Alvin and the Chipminks: Road Chip
Wait, I'm seeing a movie this weekend written by the guy who did THAT?!!!

I'm very happy this made it to a billion.

I actually like this movie, especially for the Lovecraftian Palpatine/ritual scenes. I really like the characters Rey and Ken too. I skipped Last Jedi since they had offed the character I was interested in the most, but bringing back Palpatine reeled me into this one.

Easily one of my most anticipated films of next year!

Like fandom but for genres?
Kind of weird they highlighted Looney Tunes but not Scooby Doo as the latter is way more popular with kids.
Looney Tunes has had really strong viewing numbers on HBO Max.

A sequel to film that cost 55 Million and made over a Billion is a no brainer if ever there was one.
What studio exec would not like a direcotr like that?
Holy heck, I had no idea that Joker made over a billion. That's insane. (I haven't followed box office too much ever since Mojo's redesign)

For those that have seen it, how is the tone? Is it comedic in parts?

Honestly, I'd probably dig this if it didn't have those designs. I'm sure most teens and adults will be turned off by them.
