Didn't really see this thread till baumer linked it. TIFF sounds so badass…i'd love to just watch new movies all day every day for a week. Jealous of those that got to see Nightcrawler- really am amped to see it and early reviews say it's the best shot LA film since collateral which was an awesome movie. Sounds dark, funny, disturbing, horrific…perfect.
And yup met the rth down in diego for a few hours before he had to take off to the festival. Was quick, wish we could've chilled more - maybe got a quick squat/bench session in (haha), but was good times nonetheless.

It would be Brett Ratner's first 60+ drop that wasn't an X-Men sequel.
Well, lets tack on the old there's a first for everything. With Guardians taking a big chunk, I think it could definitely happen. Not that it's all that telling but at a 445 showing in a somewhat popular theatre I was the only 1 besides 2 others in a pretty large theatre.
-
For Herc, that's a worse Mon-Thu decline than Mummy III. 60+% drop will happen.
After seeing Herc, I don't doubt it falls hard. Unfortunately for the Rock, it was pretty lackluster and forgettable.

So the last 3/4 weeks I spent a lot of my evenings watching the first 3 seasons of GoT. Don't have HBO, and just tried to ignore everyone bantering about GoT the last few years, ha. Randomly my sister and her husband passed down a season 1 set of GoT, and Fck, haha. It's amazing. So, went out and bought season 2/3, watched bout a season a week and just so much goes on…so many characters, so much drama, so much T&A, so many cool story lines.
I'll stay out of this thread much till I can go thru season 4 so I don't spoil myself…but GoT definitely lives up to its name and hype. I'll def be joining you all in the speculation/banter after I get thru 4. BTW, just watched ep 9/10 of season 3….wow…some f'ed up stuff. The Rains of Castermere was pretty brutal.
My fav character thru 3 seasons has to be Arya.

so saw snowpiercer a few nights ago. Man, great movie! Perfect combination of action/futuristic end of world type stuff/w/ a lot of social commentary there. Wish it got a wide release and big marketing, because nothing besides transformers 4 was around really. Bravo, bravo tho, I loved it and would recommend it to anyone.

This Summer is pretty f'ing trash. There's a few movies sprinkled in that are good, but overall it's no bueno. The little movies like snow piercer and even tho I know it's not small edge of tomorrow bring it up…but damn bad summer for movies…both box office wise and quality wise

Rth is slumbering, or at the gym….tf4 is all over the place on these forums and with me. I think its better than 2/3 , others think it sucks. I was pleasantly surprised. Maybe for the fact we get imagine dragons tune instead of linkin' park (tho I love old linkin' park, just not bay linkin park).

I thought it was perfect.
haha, I was on my way out and heard this start to bump…I was like alright, kind of smiled, thought that's kind of funny. But, if you don't know the lyrics I think you'd be like WTF?? ha

Yea I was going to see EoT tonight but the throngs of teenage girls is going to be too much and I decided to wait until a matinee tomorrow...
The worst sub groups of people to have a lot of in your theatre are definitely teenage girls and old people. I could care less how many teen girls are at the theatre tonight - as long as they're going to watch their little romcom stars movie and staying the F out of Edge of Tomorrow I'm all good. Wish EoT was doing better, reviews and pretty much everyone on here is raving about it.

Hmm... I wonder if the Spectrum may be a good spot for watching movies?
Spectrums IMAX is pretty awesome. I've seen many, many movies on that thing - Avatar, Matrix Reloaded, Dark Knight, etc. All awesome. Only thing about the spectrum on weekends is it's a f'ing zoo.
-
That is what I meant with my post. It is probably because of that I don't love it like some do.
Memories. I don't think walking out of a movie I ever quite had the feeling I did after I walked out of the Matrix. I was about a junior I think in high school- impressionable youth- and good God. My mind was so blown with what I had just watched. I just remember jumping around outside and just had a huge grin on my face…that truly was an epic for me. As an even younger kid, the star wars movies on VHS amazed me. But that teenage movie that just made me go nuts was the matrix no doubt- that feeling all fans of movies want to have after watching what you think is the greatest movie you've ever seen.
For that reason alone it remains in my top 5 ever(I love the 2nd also- no comment on 3rd)

Did you just call me extra?
haha. You, extra? Never.
But dang I'm going to have to rent frozen like right now.

-
You ain't? Damn, I guess you and me have to spend some alone time together.
I hope you enjoy the movie though! I was super hesitant to see the film, but I ended up LOVING Frozen.
Well duh! I need that extra if I'm going to watch an animated movie
-
Frozen is fucking amazing.
Let It Go is bomb ass because the song is great for an Olympic Vocalist as talented as me.
Do agree that the love can get super extra, but the film is definitely amazing.
Oh I believe it, have to still check it out even though Im not a huge fan of animated films. As long as it's a good heart warming story I'm sure I'll like it. The song though is just okay to me, I mean I get why kids like it, but I just am not sure how it became so popular. I guess it goes with the movie well.
-
Just listened to Let It Go for the first time ever. How the fuck did that song become a phenomenon? Menzel's such a bland singer.
Lol…feel ya bro. It's pretty juvenile but I just kept thinking of a fart you gotta rip but have to hold it because the situation ur in. Let it go, let it go! I have no clue why that song is so popular, it's so bland and just meh. But hey let it go let it go haha

Am I weird for liking 2009 Wolverine? In terms of just mindless action, it does its job well. Besides the butchering of Deadpool, I don't get the hate. Jackman and Schreiber played well off each other IMO.
na, i don't think ur that weird…it wasn't that bad. It pissed me off the most because they threw in my fav x men character - gambit as taylor kitsch without a back story or anything, just to throw it in. Fucking annoying. Origins wasn't that bad- it was bad but imo most xmen movies have been shit so i mean its along with all the others besides x2 and maybe the new one- haven't decided yet. x2 is really the only good movie. It's f'ing the x men and singer has always just dwarfed them…eh just terrible as a long time cartoon show/comic fan. These guys/gals are amazing and all singer shows is a little chit/chat or fight in a room… really?
-
Crazy to think X2 adjusted opened to 113m 3-Day.
I hadn't watched x2 for a long time before amc threw it on last night. I definitely agree with a lot of people, best x men movie. Not a huge fan of what the series has done overall. I mean it's just meh. I guess that's maybe because as a kid I loved the comics and tv show so much that the xmen i had in my mind wasn't how it played out at all. Singer, yeah idk. Not sure he was ever the right man for the job. But whatever. The new xmen was def a step in the right direction but I just wish a legit, great director would take over for singer- i just don't dig him besides usual suspects.
-
Guys Im really thinking the movies no one thinks about are going to be the great ones. Like Edge of Tomorrow and Jupiter Ascending. Well I'm hoping
-
ill say this- i saw Spidey 2 and x men so far and was under whelmed. Big time. I'm seeing godzilla tomorrow. Hopefully it comes through for me cuz spider 2 and x days were just ok
-
-
alright bros so first of all going to see Godzilla tomorrow. Pretty hyped. Saw Xmen today and spidey 2 the other day. Spidey 2 i won't get into here. Xmen. So it was ok for me. Just ok. It was a 7.5/10. Im not going to rave on a movie just cuz everyone else does. It had its moments but X2 was way better and this is coming from a guy who read the xmen comics as a kid. I liked/loved certain parts but others parts were very dull. It's a good movie overall but I'm not walking out of the movie theatre going wow, that was f'ing awesome.
Hopefully Godzilla will do that for me tomorrow

Ellen Page Kitty I like and dislike at the same time. I don't know what it is about Ellen Page but I like and dislike her at the same time.......it's bizarre I know. I guess it depends on the role. She was pretty good in TLS and things like Juno but for some reason in DoFP she was kind of annoying? *shrugs*
JP3's average at best.
Dude I get that feeling too. Like every time I'm annoyed with her, she does something that just makes it so I like her. You ever see Hard Candy? Wow, what a crazy little movie. But, yeah I hate her little hipster swag but in other things i like her like inception…idk. All i can say is she's so tiny I can't hate on her. haha

Yes sir BKb, I know you want Bats and Superman to be epic, but I know you will be pulling for Cap to keep
the massive team up from super performing.. I got to root for both to do well. Love the Captain..
But nothing is stopping Batman and Superman, I Doubt WB can fak it up.. Too many good stories to draw on.
And one hell of a director and producer name Nolan on the project BKB compadre.
I agree the fanboys wanting Cap to pull and upset of Superman and Batman should be a very unique war indeed.
Juggernaut w solidify that James has no limits!!!
I'm amazed at the wizardry that is kal posts. In my head I'm picturing a guy just totally coked up or just bonkers on speed and typing while trying to watch avatar in slow mo. Such weird posts, but always positive so can't knock it. Def diff from old kal
