Ah, yeah.  Caused a bit of a stink back then for some of the reasons I mentioned upthread.  Do think it is slightly a special case simply because of the sheer number of seasons, but yeah as I said Disney isn't the only one to be fuc... messing around with the home media market.

Even so, something as popular as The Mandalorian should absolutely have received as S1 release by now.  And if the fig leaf excuse was number of episodes, then word about a combined S1 and S2 series set should have been leaking by now.  Say what you will about HBO, but at least they're still releasing their shows on the home media market (to my knowledge, at least).

You’re not going to get Disney+ shows on home media. They want you to subscribe.

Theatrically-released movies will still get releases for the time being. The pandemic really sped up the expiration of that market.

I get that Rescuers Down Under is obscure, but this is ridiculous!

What a perfect movie! It definitely belongs in the Renaissance discussion even though people leapfrog it between Mermaid and Aladdin. It wasn’t a big hit in theaters, but was big on home video.

Moana would have done better at the BO, if not quite Frozen-levels, if it hadn't been cut short at the knees by Sing, coming hot off the first SLoP (2016 was easily the height of Ilumination's popularity). There were multiple markets like DOM and Japan where Moana was gaining WOM but then Sing just came along and hurt it.

Still though, the soundtrack at least has been killing it since. There was one of those Teens React YouTube videos where they had to guess the highest selling Disney songs on Spotify (or was it iTunes?) and both How Far I'll Go and You're Welcome were in the Top 3(!) after Let It Go.

Moana clocks in at #42 for the decade on Billboard’s 2010s list. The only soundtracks ahead of it are Frozen (#4), The Greatest Showman (#12), and A Star is Born (#33).
