this is a really great point, and I think the answer is “not that many”. Same goes for Paranount +. I don’t think either service will become a bit service, but given the studios behind them they will likely stick around and just be known only to those who have them.

I have Peacock solely for their Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trips seasons. I have Paramount+ for RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars.

For my money, Paramount+ has MUCH more to offer than Peacock.

  2. Titanic’s “bigness” is also felt with its total pop culture dominance. The soundtrack to the movie spent 17 weeks at #1 and is certified 11x platinum! “My Heart Will Go On” is one of the biggest global hits of all time. Every TV show had a “I’m flying, Jack!” parody.

Yeah, you really need to come out and say it straight, like Superman vs the KKK. The more you cover something in allegory the more people are going to miss it.

edit: That said, there are going to be people who miss it anyway, like some idjits accusing Star Trek of suddenly being woke. Or being surprised that the machine Rage Against The Machine was raging against wasn't a microwave.

It’s like the people not knowing that Get Out is lampooning white liberals and their fucked up views about black people.

You can't deny that ledgers death certainly helped get people into the theater. But that doesn't take away from the fact that the Dark Knight at least in my opinion is one of the greatest movies of all time and it would have done well even if heath was alive.

I think it would have done even better, tbh. He would have been catapulted to another level of movie star had he been alive to enjoy its success.

All good. Different strokes different folks.

I think Citizen Kane is garbage. Hot fucking garbage

    Most Potters are average

The Exorcist that's about as scary as an episode of Sesame Street.

Civil War is kinda boring except for the airport battle.

We all like what we like.

The Exorcist doesn’t scare you? Lucky.

I can’t watch anything to do with the devil. That Southern Baptist upbringing runs deep.

That sounds good and everything, but it simply isn't reality.  The business won't die, it will just adjust and leave behind the workers for new workers.

Again, this is exactly what happened to the auto industry.  The unions pushed and pushed for decades until they got so over their skis that it was unsustainable and they simply moved the factories to find workers that were undervalued and could produce the same (and often times a much better) product for a sustainable cost.

“You can't treat the working man this way. One day we'll form a union and get the fair and equittable treatment we deserve. Then we'll go too far, and get corrupt and shiftless and the Japanese will eat us alive!”

Ya'll out here ranting about Gen Z "having a cushy life" when they are the first generation to have had active school shooter drills in classes and traumatized to the point of breakdown as kids with the possibility of getting shot in the middle of a Pop Quiz 🙄 And let's not even get into the additional trauma of being an LGBT or trans kid or a POC kid in MAGAland. But I guess they need to be tougher because they haven't put shingles on roofs

GTFO with that bs. If you haven't helped make life easier for the next generation, then you are part of the problem.

School shootings are extremely rare and have actually decreased from their peak a few years back.

I was a gay kid in Louisiana in the days before Ellen and Will and Grace. Something tells me they’re way better off now than I was, lol.
