Ninjago is barely going to make a blip. Kingsman should be pretty big.

what's the biggest opening for a horror movie prior to this?
PA3 I think with $50m
-
Tommyknockers? I can barely remember the mini series for that.

Either way if you told anyone on this board and anyone on the production team for IT that it would open with $70M when production began you would have been laughed at.
This is a true credit to WB's excellent marketing campaign.
-
If this hits $100M OW, which I am still sceptical of, maybe we will see a change in the way horror movies are produced and treated in Hollywood.

So, who wants to bet WB fast tracks Part 2 and announces it for September 7, 2018 on Monday?
I see a IT universe being greenlite. Can anyone see a Pennywise origin movie?

I didn't know Beauty and the Beast '17 was a horror movie.
Emma Watson's singing sure terrified me.

Wow! WB have really hit this one out of the park. This will be in profit before Sunday.
The hype is real. I am expecting similar great numbers here in the UK.
$80M OW is the bare minimum.
That's amazing for a HARD R rated horror movie.

I am on page 1,000 and the book is great! Get Out it at 99%
And....? 91% is not good enough? Really? Some people are just never satisfied.

So what is the latest tracking?
Also, who will be the first trade to break embargo? It always happens.
-
There are a lot of reviews popping up on YouTube but I am waiting for the trade reviews.

Is everyone getting carried away?
I definitely sense the hype but it is still a horror movie.
I would love a $100M ow. It would finally get Hollywood to treat the horror genre with respect and not a cheap way to get a little bit of money.

Some of you have serious issues. Anyone who states that Alien was a bad film needs to be locked in a cellar with no food and water for a week.
Alien is miles better than Aliens. Alien builds up the creature to be the ultimate killing machine....Aliens makes them generic monsters that can be dispatched with guns easily. It turns them into drones.
Also, how the hell did all the adults die but that little girl was able to survive alone in a shaft?
Bill Pullman's character becomes so annoying that it takes away from the drama on screen.
Aliens is a fun war movie but it just doesn't have the atmosphere, fear, characters or acting calibre of the first movie.

I've just seen that there are midnight screenings on Wednesday night in the UK. I can't remember the last time that happened. I don't expect record breaking numbers but I think this will be one of the highest grossing horror movies of all time.
$55-60M OW
$160M DOM
$400M WW

It looks beautiful. I'll be there opening weekend

Are people still asking whether that scene will be filmed? Of course it would never be filmed....ever.
The scene, from memory,
Spoilerwas after the kids defeat IT and after they have realised that IT's power is connected to their childhood...so to remove the possibility of IT coming back they all decide to lose their virginity. The only girl in the group then lets each of the boys have sex with her.
That's from memory. I havent read the book in over 20 years.

The buzz for this movie is kinda insane. I honestly see a huge OW. That trailer is very effective and IT was a huge TV event when it was released.
$50M+ OW

The trailer is nothing special. I'm totally confused by all the jizzing over it.
I don't get it it either. It looks like every other disaster movie before it.
The CGI doesn't even look that great.
This will be a flop.

Has any one here taking care of someone who is drunk. My roommate is having a hard time keeping still when she is sleeping. She won't keep her head titled every time I try to she moves to a new position.
