“Something is in the works, but the element of surprise is the most important element,” Jim Pasco, executive director of the Fraternal Order of Police, told The Hollywood Reporter. “Something could happen anytime between now and [the debut ofHateful Eight]. And a lot of it is going to be driven by Tarantino, who is nothing if not predictable.” Pasco added that his group, the largest police organization in the world, would be “opportunistic.”

Yep, this gives me full confidence in the US police system. What a idiot.

QT is now tied with Spike Lee for the "Director who should just make his movies and stop trying to be some kind of public figure" award.

It will get QT cred with his ultra liberal Hollywood pals, but not go over good with a good portion of the ticket buying public.

That does not even make sense. By being a Hollywood director of course he will be a public figure.

QT has the right to protest and he never even said anything against good cops. Maybe if they spent more time out reaching to the community and speaking against bad cops, QT wouldn't have to say anything.

This is just childish gang mentality.

The more I hear, the more I consider just skipping this one in theaters. The Scream 3 comparisons definitely aren't helping.

If you are a Bond fan I'd assume you will get some joy out of it. It's nowhere near as good as CR and Skyfall is better too (and I am not a fan of Skyfall, much).

How are the set pieces and stunts compared to previous entries? Skyfall was great but it lacks good action except the first 15 minutes.

The first set piece, and the train set piece, are good.  The remaining set pieces range from average to dull.

The cinematography is beautiful in many scenes but the action itself is filmed with very little imagination.  The finale is total shit. It felt like it was from a Austin Powers movie.

The buddy I saw this with likes pretty much everything and even he thought it was a slog.

This is going to be one of those IM2/Thor 2/Spider-Man 3 'Wait, this actually got good reviews?" movies.

It's not a bad movie, it just offers nothing new. It almost feels like a satire of previous bond movies. The best action sequence was the train fight and even that has been done better in previous Bond movies.

  5. Katie was groomed from basically birth to be the liason between Toby and the witches.  She was taught how to communicate with Toby, who is basically a demon trying to take life form.  To do so, he needs two kids who were born on the same day, and Hunter and Leanne, the kid in the movie, were both boron on 666, June 5 2005.  He needs their blood, according to a prophecy, to take life form.  Katie and Hunter were taken in by the coven and Hunter was used to get his blood.  Katie disappeared never to be seen again.  She is presumed to be with the witches.  Although she was a major character in the first two films, she's not really needed in this one as it explains everything that happened to her as a kid and as an adult.

Errr! I guess that explains some of it...kinda. Definitely not worth the price of a ticket, though.

  6. Have you been reading?

No. Like MOST people I don't care about this franchise anymore

You're aware of the release problems due to new strategy?

It's a copout. If they thought it would be a success they would have never released it on VoD so fast

Of course it won't have as much marketing and will be the lowest grosser. Only to be expected with that theatre count.

Again. Cop out excuse. The last installment should have been the highest grosser. If they thought they had a big hit they would have marketed it better and released it on VoD months later.

  7. Spectre will likely have big licensing deals for TV rights, VOD and home entertainment sales so it'll still be profitable even if it doesn't crack $1bn.

Given the amount of products that are using Bond in their advertisements like Heineken, Sony, Omega etc it's still a huge brand.

Exactly. I'm sure Spectre, like most James Bond movies, makes its production budget back from sponsors alone.

  8. I said this exact same thing you just did yesterday when they were showing the CNN Headline over it and Cmasterday nearly had a fit over it as well as other people.. The theatre I go to has security, whether it's this movie or any other movie.. I see nothing wrong with the way they reported that yesterday on CNN or FOX that causes such a knee jerk reaction around here to the point where 9 times out of 10, the thread is ultimately locked because of it..

The CNN storyline was so stupid it almost dropped my IQ by 10 points.

    It was ignorant.
