This is a fine number but I'm laughing at this revisionism of people now going "it's a Captain Americs movie, this is amazing!" When this is a clear Avengers movie and marketed that way

Yep, this was clearly marketed as a Captain America movie.

The movie itself might be a CA sequel but this has been marketed as a IM vs CA movie. It's pretty much a Avengers sequel.

So everyone got swept by the hype and assumed $200m+ weekend? I think this number is great.
I think we have hit the peak of Marvel's audience retention. It will probably last a few more years and then we will have a slump.

Everyone chill, awful 2nd weekend drop. Get over it. It's Wrestlemania weekend.
Is that still a thing?
I thought everyone, over the age of 12, got bored of wrestling when it became a soap opera.
I also do think it's weird that the boards are getting policed so heavily. At the end of the day people should not be so emotionally invested in a movie. There is a lot of movies I like that others don't. Big deal.
BvS was a total mess, in my opinion. I am not shocked by the drop off. If you enjoyed it, that's great for you. But none of us financed it nor will we make any money from its success...so stop taking things so personally.

Well, I don't think anyone can argue against bad WOM now. That's a terrible hold.

WOW! That was a complete mess. I've never been so bored. It's so disjointed and has no storyline.
And I have questions:
Why didn't they just give the spear to WW rather than have Superman do it (and die by consequence)?
How come Supes can hear Lois anywhere in the world, but can't hear his mother when she is kidnapped?
Was that the flash who warned Batman in the dream sequence?

Prisoners suffers from being far too long and the ending being a bit of a cop out.

My two cents: Enemy, Prisoners and Sicario are all better than anything Ridley's made since Gladiator.
Agreed.
I love Ridley's earlier work but he has not been great in a long time.
I'm hoping this is a great sequel, whether its a box office hit is up in the air as the original was a bomb

This is one of those WTF performances. I don't get it. I haven't seen all the ads but the one i have came across as desperately wanting to be funny and edgy to me. It looked so niche, yet it's making huge numbers... *shrugs*
I'm in the same boat.
It honestly didn't look appealing to me. The overuse of DMX's worst song. The constant silly humour. The predictable action scenes (with slo-mo and gravity defying car chases). But, apparently it worked and it is a good film...I guess.

if they can make four or five superhero movies a year a Transformers movie every few years or so is not a problem
The difference being there has actually been evidence of a GOOD superhero movie, unlike the TF movies, which have been 'watchable' at best.

Also, TEAM ALIEN.
Aliens is a fantastic movie, but I hate how they take the 'perfect killing machine' and turn them to be pretty easy to kill. I hate that they turn them into a mindless horde protecting their queen.
In Alien, the xenomorph is intelligent, tactile and patient. It made it scarier. The mystery behind this monster was its power.
Aliens is a great action movie, one of the greatest. Its build up and tension is great but too many characters feel wafer thin and the fear factor isn't felt, until we meet the queen.

Many All time greatest sequel lists have mentioned Aliens. Deal with it. Live with it. Take it with you to your grave.
I never said it isn't 'great', I just pointed out the difference between OPINION and FACT. Deal with that. Live with that. Take that to your grave.

Severely OT but it is quite worrying that people actual think GWTW depicts a POSITIVE relationship between slaves and their owners.
Prissy was physically and verbally abused (and depicted in one of the most offensively racist ways) and all the others were treated like property. There was no humanity given to them. They were property, no matter how much people want to gloss over it.

Grow up biuu. When we say beat fa and ultron. You got to be dense to think we mean domestically only. Force awakens and ultron will combine for maybe 3.1 to 3.2b or less. Avatar 2 minimum is around 2.4b and highend which is likely will hit 3.5b to 4b ww. Affectively it could double both your tentpoles. That's one hell of ass stomping Jedi paddione. And you now it's likely the high end of this spectrum that's happening. James Cameron is a god amongst mere mortal directors.
Ok, so you mean Avatar 2 will beat AoU and TFA combined ww?
And what is a paddione? Sounds like a brand name for a tampon.

All I know, is that Ironjimbo and JamesCameronScholar and Kal are either 1 in the same or members of his family he recruited to help him on his crusade in some desperate futile attempt in hoping his AVATAR sequel somehow, someway out grosses TFA and it's not happening folks... There's just no way that magically, 2 posters just happen to come along when TFA has begun it's dismantling of AVATAR and all associated with Kal.. No one else find that interesting???
We've all assumed it's duplicate accounts. Weird, as their grammar is better than kal's.

My friend , remember to save these immature trolls posts on force awakens vs avatar 2. Fox will spend less in advertising and still blow possibly both avengers 2 and sws combined away at the box office.. We will celebrate if it reaches the 1.1b domestic milestone and over 3b ww GD buddy.
If you think it would beat Star Wars, of course it would also beat Avengers 2. They aren't even close to each other, in regards to domestic gross.
I'll ignore all the other wrong stuff you said

I think it was fun but not anything truly remarkable. Marvel has a formula and this movie followed it to the letter.
