  1. It's not like if it was R it would be performing better lol. If you add gore on a few scenes and another f-bomb it doesn't change much. The whole PG-13/R stuff is just nonsense. Majority of americans just don't want to pay to see Arnold as a lead in a movie anymore. That is why the movie is struggling the way it is, even as a Terminator movie. That said more of Arnold older fans will be out over the weekend. So I do expect a increase. But If they were going to go with 155 million dollar PG-13 action movie like they did. They should have casted a big name younger actor to co-lead this with Arnold. Emilia Clarke, Jason Clarke and Jai Courtney aren't going to get butts in the seats. This movie needed another attraction to go along with Arnold for it to sell the way they wanted it too.

You weren't saying any of this a few days ago. You were pretty certain that Arnold would draw in enough interest for $135M+

  2. Yeah I expect both Magic Mike XXL and Terminator Genisys to have 30 million plus weekends. Both films have older fan-bases and I don't think either film is a MUST SEE for a lot of people. Yes they want to see these films, but they can wait for the weekend. So there not going to rush to the theater to see it on a weekday night when they got to work the next day. I know on SZ and the Schwarzenegger forum a lot of big Arnold and Terminator fans were only going to go see it today or tomorrow. Since it was too hard to go on a Tuesday night yesterday. I'm sure even lesser fan boys will wait until Friday. Not everyone is like me and decided to take there summer work vacation starting the day Terminator Genisys opened lol. While Magic Mike audiences is groups of woman getting together to go see it. That's more likely going to happen Friday night and Sunday afternoon.

Excuses excuses excuses. Sorry,Terminator just isn't the huge draw you thought it would be. Yes its Friday will pick up but not by much...this has little appeal for the older crowd.

  3. Bad preview for Terminator Genisys, but this stil gives me hope.

Terminator Genisys goes wide in 3,758 locations today. Over the weekend, Terminator Genisys collected $8.4M in 10 foreign territories. According to Fandango’s presales, Terminator Genisys is pacing ahead of San Andreas at the same point in its sales cycle.

San Andreas was not a fanbase movie so it would hardly attract much presales. Most of its business would be walk ups. Terminator is a franchise with a fanbase.

  4. TG/T5 was always going to be a film that would need to earn back its fanbase' trust(a la Batman Begins). While the reviews don't exactly look like they've done that, it was inevitable that it would start out soft. (Who knows, maybe this will be a crowd pleaser)

Although I distinctly remember saying these very same things about TS. Is it really that hard to make a halfway decent Terminator film without Cameron?

No its just very bad plot choices. Except for pushing the story forward  with a strong plot they keep revisiting the same well.

  5. Well I have seen it too.

Best PIXAR movie in years. I honestly can't see anyone under 10 really understanding or enjoying this.

    Positive

    - Great characters

    - Abstract ideas

    - Strong emotional core

    - Strong message

    Negative

    - Story drags at parts

    - Disgust character really felt pointless and too much like Mindy Kailing

    - Not enough time exploring family dynamic (I found that just as interesting as the mind concept)

    Overall I enjoyed it.

    8/10

  6. Only one scene in Scream 4 was intense and that's the killer in the closet scene...brutal, unapologetic and intense. Everything else was just not the same and  Emma Roberts didn't have the chops to fully pull off the killer reveal.

I do hope horror makes a revival. We need a $200m+ grosser. Just like how Scream broke the $100 million barrier.

  7. I called it!  I said major disappointment because of

-gay marriage burnout (despite a relentless push by corporate America)

-the MacFarlane brand of humor - middle-aged dudes dressing like teenagers, guzzling beer, and making pop culture references - is completely exhausted.  I'm surprised it lasted as long as it did

If I'd been paying more attention, I would've spearheaded the under 50m OW thread.

    lololololol

    What does that even mean??

    Such a non-sensical reasoning.......eurgh
