  1. .. yeah about that.. within 40m is for the top 15... for the top 7 OW...... here is the gross scoring system: GROSS ACCURACY: Call a film’s gross to within 1 million to get 30,000 bonus points Call a film’s gross to within 2.5 million to get 25,000 bonus points Call a film’s gross to within 5 million to get 20,000 bonus points Call a film’s gross to within 10 million to get 15,000 bonus points Call a film’s gross to within 15 million to get 10,000 bonus points Call a film’s gross to within 20 million to get 5,000 bonus points Call a film’s gross to within 30 million to get no bonus points Miss the gross by more than 30M and lose 10,000 points (You will lose these points even if the film doesn’t make the top 7 OW.) The closest predictor for each film will also receive a bonus 10,000 points.
  2. Nothing else need to be said but..... QUEENSLANDER! UP THE MIGHTY MAROON'S!!!!!!!!!!!
  3. it's not wide across the country. Only some states get it this weekend coming... it's release is spread over the next 3 weekends i think (could be 2.. not 100% sure..) we often have 2 animated films in release at the same time at this time of the year. They are all targeting our June / July School holidays. Both should be fine i think.
  4. Weekend Results : June 17th - 19th, 2016 - Lucasbenica and Simionski swim out in front of the pack.... @lucasbenica took the top spot thanks to pretty much Dory with 155m. @Simionski followed closely with a total just shy of 150m. 3rd saw @Exxdee re-enter the top 5 for the first time since March with 69m. @chasmmi slotted into 4th with 68m while @The Pandaren rounded out the top 5 with 53m. The coming weekend is an interesting one, it could go one of 2 ways. The expectation from most i think is Dory will continue on swimming at the top, but it's 2nd spot which is interesting. How big can Independence Day 2 open to. the original film opened to the then 2nd biggest opening of all time on it's way to an impressive 306m all the way back in 1996. More importantly, a number of investors to stand gain should the film break out from a total sub 200m which would be a disappointment. I think lucasbenica will easily hold onto the top spot as none of the current top 5 have invested into ID4-2. Unless ID4-2 somehow magically opened above 100m that is (I'm holding onto some hope here). Here is the top 13 (well it's now top 12 as ethan is no longer earning and disappears from next week.) 17. Agree with most of that. Though I think dory can stretch higher. I'm not convinced suicide squad is going that high. Closer to 250m is my thoughts. I still think ID4 2 will do a lot better than that but my faith in that film is shaken of late....
  18. Great start for FD. Not quite as impressive as the US opening but then again in australia, typically Animated films don't open big and then are pretty much flat if they open in this timeframe (right before the holidays). anyway, it's the 48th (if it's 10m exactly) biggest opening here and amongst Animated films 4th (behind Shrek 2 & 3 and The Simpsons). Of course FD does take the pixar / disney animated film OW record from Finding Nemo (which had owned that since 2003 - as i noted, it's unusual for an animated film to open big here. Remember Nemo opened with 8m on it's way to 38m. Dory if it matches that run, it would reach 47m+. which isn't impossible to believe, but it does face Ice Age 5 during it's holiday run amongst a number of other films targeting a similar audience. Surprising start by Warcraft or is warcraft just more popular here in australia than in the US ? (I was half expecting an under 2m start for WC to be honest, especially after the US opening - i guess this film is more of a international performer than a US Domestic performer)

  20. Weekend Results : 10th - 12th June - Cjohn conjures a win....JUST @CJohn took the top spot on the back of Conjuring 2's opening with 49m. @chasmmi was however close on his heals with 46m. In fact I should note the top 5 were only seperated by 9m. @lucasbenica took down 3rd, @BourneFan #1 in 4th and @grey ghost rounded out the 5. The coming weekend sees the release of one of the big films of the summer. Finding Dory is expected to dominate the weekend and as such simionski & lucasbenica should dominate the weekend. Central Intelligence is expected to be no slouch either though, and given the before mentioned Simionski and lucasbenica have investments in CI also, expect both to dominate.
