  1. ok budget updates (from BOM) Ice Age 5 = 105m Lights Out = 4.9m and yeach!!!!!! and ouch (why did i put in that extra 50%) Star Trek Beyond = 185m
  2. One of the better comparison for films is Australia to the US. Typically the ratio is the AUD total is 10% of the US total. Now IA4 made 27m in Australia. (Previous entires were also up on the US total) So in theory they perform comparitely better in Australia. IA5 is currently on track for a sub 15m total. My thoughts is IA5 will open below 30m at this point. As low as 25m is possible which isn't good. Even more so when u consider Pets hasn't even been released in Australia (and won't till September. The sole animated competition for Ice age 5 here is dory.
  3. Yep it appears the founder will be part of the 2017 game. All investments in it are cancelled. Money returned.
  4. It still trails Shrek 2 by 1m at the same point but it appears to have stronger legs to date than Shrek 2 did and is now earning / catching shrek week in week out. I suspect Dory can do it but it's going to be near thing. (I think Dory will land between 49.8m and 51m in the end)
  5. Animated Hits Dory is on a will it or won't crusade for 50m in Australia (similar to the US will it or won't it get to 50m.) Unlike the US, FD is still only the 2nd biggest animated film here. It will need 50.4m to pass Shrek 2's monster result here before it's #1 and as noted i'm on the fence whether FD can reach the threshold. Oh and over the weekend, Finding Dory finally passed Deadpool over the weekend and became the biggest film of 2016. 6. Reasonable start for GB ... 15m total possible ? see below for the updated charts for FD. Ice Age 5 is now trailing all of the 4 previous films at the same point. (way less than half of the 3rd or 4th films which were massive here). Given it's performance here and it doesn't even face Pets in Australia, I am not seeing a strong opening the US anymore.
  7. Looks like perfectly in line with US domestic OW projections of 46m. Slightly steeper per drop than I expected for Dory. Will review with actuals to see what that means for 50m
  8. Well pets looks to be on its way to another 330m+. Ghostbusters will likely stay below 154m. Anyone willing to guess what the first film will be to land in between 160m and 330m in 2016. I can't remember a year with an apparent feast or famine at the box office. Star Trek, Bourne and suicide squad are all surely contenders to land in between. Oh oh and good start for GB. Not great not bad.
  9. 1. Secret Life of Pets comes 2nd in the Domestic top 15 of the summer. 2. Alice In Wonderland 2 makes the Domestic top 15 3. Sausage Party makes over $80M 4. Ice Age fails to make $400M Worldwide 5. Suicide Squad makes $300M Domestic 6. Bad Moms makes the Domestic Top 15 5 & 3 should happen

  11. Australian opening day about 1m. Should manage 4.5m to 5.5m down under. Should translate to a 45m to 55m OW in the US if normal comparison applies.
  12. Yes. Pretty much inline with what most experts are thinking I'd say.

  22. Just show by comparison how disappointing Ice Age 5's run is here....... take a look at the comparison to the previous entries. it's currently the 2nd lowest of the franchise at the same point and this is a result of the previews. the weekends themselves are much weaker than even the first film. I'm thinking a sub 15m finish at this point (around 13m if i'm correct) Wk Ice Age Ice Age 2 Ice Age 3 Ice Age 4 Ice Age 5 1: 2.6m/2.6m 5.3m/5.3m 5.9m/8.1m 4.9m/6.3m 1.6m/4.0m 2: 3.1m/6.2m 4.3m/11.7m 5.5m/17.9m 4.9m/15.7m 2.2m/8.2m 3: 2.5m/11.1m 3.0m/18.0m 3.1m/23.9m 4.0m/23.3m 4: 1.7m/13.9m 1.9m/22.0m 2.1m/27.5m 1.2m/25.5m 5: 1.4m/16.4m 642k/23.1m 736k/28.7m 558k/26.0m 6: 1.3m/18.8m 420k/23.7m 338k/29.2m 348k/26.8m 7: 458k/19.6m 272k/24.0m 187k/29.5m 250k/27.1m 8: 162k/19.9m 147k/24.2m 91k/29.6m 191k/27.3m 9: 108k/20.0m 77k/24.3m 106k/27.4m 10: 73k/20.1m 57k/27.5m TOTAL: 20.5m 24.6m 29.8m 27.6m 8.2m
