A2 isn't even guaranteed to do what the first one did.

Though since it's now a Disney movie...

I'm still scratching my head about how Avatar 1 was able to bring in the numbers it did. The movie was OK, but not some cinematic masterpiece. And I can't believe it was the 3D upcharge that helped it catapult it's BO end result.

HBO is expecting record ratings for tonight’s episode but I’m not sure that would affect too much guys. Come on.

17.5 million households, anywhere from 1 to 4 people per household. You do the math.

I'll never say never but it wouldn't shock me if Endgame at the end of the day was more frontloaded than Infinity War.

I seen this movie twice. Let me just say, I seen more people walking out of the theater a little let down than pumped. First time, I went with a party of 13 people, some fanboys and one considered a general audience, and nobody walked away happy. I went again last night with my mom. She enjoyed the movie, but as I was leaving, I was hearing quite a few murmurs from the audience about how it didn't feel right, that it was missing something. IW was more fun, and had great interactions with Tony, Thor, Peter, GOTG and Stephen Lang. End Game didn't have that to be honest. I seriously feel that it was Thor's arc and the whole thing between Tony, GOTG and Peter that made Infinity War so rewatchable, and well, End Game dropped the ball in my opinion concerning these characters. End Game had one scene in it that had me pumped, but other than that, the movie was kind of depressing. I'm more than likely wrong, and I sure as hell can't foresee what this film will be like just from my personal experience. But, I won't be surprised if in the end, the movie starts to perform more like Age of Ultron by it's third week after the newness wears off.

The actuals will be lower due to Game of Thrones

Possible. My mom and I was going to go see End Game on Sunday, but then we realized GOT was going to have the BIG BATTLE, so we decided to go on Saturday instead.  Of course, we are going to have people who refuse to accept that Game of Thrones is also a beast of a franchise and will just say people needed to go to bed so they are up for work/school the next day, but I personally won't be surprised if

    Spoiler

    GOT deaths and whatnot

might be stealing End Game's thunder on Social Media come Monday.

I think that overt emphasis that the crypt is safe is foreshadowing that it isn't. after all, isn't the crypt full of the dead, and if NK decides to rise them...

Yes. It's what I was thinking.

I also wonder, if the Night King knows where Bran is by the mark on his arm, could they just cut off his arm from that part?

they are going with fake pregnancy aren't they? She lied to Jaimie and then Tyrion. she didn't drink wine in front of Tyrion to appear that she is pregnant. that's why he thought she was sincere when she said she would send the army. "she has something to live for". but then we see her sip wine in the scene with Qyburn and then Euron. so not pregnant? nt to mention that prophecy only mentioned 3 children and the prophecy was in the show, unlike the valonquar prophecy. but speaking of, the ironic crossbow is gonna come back to bite her in the ass isn't it?

That whole scene had me a bit confused with her

getting all teary eyed in the end. Either she lied to Tyrion and Jaime (would Qyburn lie about it too?) or, maybe she and Qyburn really thought she was pregnant to only realize she is in the beginning stages of menopause.

I'm also questioning the whole thing about Qyburn giving Bronn that task. I just can't see it being legit. I do see it more that Qyburn just wants Bronn out of King's Landing so he can't be around when the Golden Company and Cersei begin to make their plans and he doesn't walk in on them. Sure, he could just have Bronn killed,  but why not try and kill 3 birds with one stone instead?

One of the best season premieres of the show for sure, can't understand people who criticize the show for indulging in too much spectacle and are then disappointed when an entire episode is made up of character moments. God bless D&D when they get to work on their Star Wars films.

I agree. I just wished we had those character moments extended. It's what makes the show for me. Sure, the big battles are awesome, but it's the little moments that make the big battles so awesome to begin with.

I'm just curious with Arya interacting with the new characters. Some of my favorite moments were with her and the Hound, Tywin and Jaquen H'gar in the past. I would hope we get some one on one with her and Tyrion, Tormund, Jaime and of course, Daenerys.

They know his gimmick,"I have the power!"

I don't know him. But then again, 50 years ago, most people in the USA would have heard Abbot and Costello, and well, today, if you walked up to a group of people in the mall and asked them, they would most likely be totally clueless.  You have a generation who doesn't even know who Madonna is, and if they do, they think she is just an old fart and should fade away.

Superman often risks nothing until he faces something so great he dies in the process. She has incredible power and with that comes incredible responsibility which I believe will be put to good use in End Game.

And, I was never a fan of Superman for that very reason. He's too powerful and kind of boring and bland as a character. Same with Batman. With Batman, it's always been the villains that were more compelling. But this is just my take on things.

Run out of like. This is what good story telling is. The stake, the vulnarabilities, then comes the courage, the responsibility, the sacrifice. Then the audience will root for you.

People are just too blind to understand. It's why movies like The Hunger Games, Star Wars, Harry Potter and LOTR were so huge. The heroes were up against unbeatable odds, and their spirit and determination helped them win out, not invincible power, and it makes for a more compelling story.

Heck, let's look at Thor in IW. Argue with me all you want, but the Thor movies and Thor in particular has been a miss with the audience. His only saving grace was that Loki was always a part of his story, and people loved Loki and would flock to his movies for Loki, not Thor. If you doubt me, go watch a comic con when all of the Avengers come on stage, and Loki get's the louder applause and cheers over Thor. It's also why they shoehorned him in so many times, is because of the fans. Can't say I blame Marvel for doing this. But, it took Thanos defeat of Thor, the loss of his eye, his hammer, his home, his family. It took him nearly dying, for the audience to cheer like crazy when he makes his grand entrance in Wakanda. Do you think he would have gotten that if he was already super powered and strong throughout the whole franchise?

The answer to this is pretty simple, guys. Clearly, when Tony went into the portal, the nuke he brought with him did nothing.  That fleet getting WRECKED?  AAAALL Carol.

But, he was risking his life, willing to lay down over the wire so the other men can be saved. That is what makes a hero. Not someone who is completely invincible and risks nothing.

No. I’m just saying Captain Marvel was obviously not part of the original plan. Which is fine but I was expecting a better explanation for her to be existing all this time

Same here. But, I am also wondering if there is going to be time travel, maybe things will make more sense by End Game. But truth is, they should have never bothered with the past. It does mess up stuff from earlier movies, and it is definitely done to shoehorn her in so she is now the center of the Avenger's universe and no longer the Starks.

Oh man... the movie was cringe.

    “I can do that!”

”no you can’t youre just a girl!”

    *does it anyway*

Wow Marvel really shattering the glass ceiling with those interactions. 🤢

Endgame has an extra burden now. I’m sure the Russo brothers will manage because they actually have skill, but without Endgame this definitely was (or still is) going to hurt the BO of other Marvel films.

Truth of the matter, even if Captain Marvel didn't exist, I have a feeling without Steve and Tony to look forward to, my interest in the franchise will probably start to die down. And it's OK, I got to see what I want, and now it's time for Marvel to pass the torch to the next generation.

I want to see a superhero film in which the lead character' inherent womanness is what kills the villain, resolves the dramatic conflict, and saves the day.

Well, in the original Buffy: The Vampire Slayer, one of her defenses is menstrual cramps, warning her that vampires are close by.

I was a Little bit dissapointed that the Skrulls turned out to be good Guys. They could have been Thanos level villains over the course of the next phase

This would be a good time to flesh out all of these other species where they aren't all good or all bad, but just like humans. Some good some bad, some really, really evil, like Hitler evil.

    Bingo.

THis should be the only way.

Organically and narratively speaking, this should be what happens. I hope so, but I am sure that the Russos will have one of the white male Avengers be the ultimate hero. Meh.

Truth is, it should be one of the Avengers from Phase one. End of story. They and their fans is what got this whole thing off of the ground, and I think they owe it to us to give the defeating blow to one of the original Avengers. Be it Tony, Steve, Bruce, Thor, Natasha or even Clint.

Secretariat is a famous race horse from many years ago; I think that's the horse that won the Kentucky Derby. The made a movie about it in 2011.

It was a poor analogy from my part. Basically, Secretariat, no doubt, a beast of a horse, not only won the triple crown in 73, but also broke the records for those tracks that still stand today. Everyone remembers Secretariat, but very few can name the jockey who was riding him and guiding him on his wins, which was Ron Turcotte. It takes a team to help make a fantastic racehorse, and the same can be said about a movie and directors, who very well may have a co-director or even producers behind the real wheel telling them what to do. But the director and actors will get all the recognition and credit in the end.

Doubt it. Rumors of James Cameron is the owner of this movie, so now that Disney is buying out Fox, he may have to shop around for a new distributor.  It also makes me wonder what is up with Avatar. It's a Fox film as well, but while Disney is using ILM, James Cameron chose to work with Weta work shop.

no you didnt understand i didnt say that, the trolls haters i called the people who want the movie to fail and etc not the people who didnt like it

Yeah, I guess I can agree with this. I was confused when you said the second group of people who are fans of the franchise, saw the movie and didn't like and tried to create bad buzz are trolls. I am a fan of Tyrone Magnus from youtube, and he's a Marvel fanboy, but did not like CM, and he never once was on the anti-Brie Larson bandwagon. Same with Jeremy Jahns, but since they put their opinions out, you got Captain Marvel fanboys calling them trolls and unsubscribing from them, all because of a movie. Makes me wonder who the real trolls are.

quit a few its not the majority though not everyone will like it thats for sure but from the many many reactions that i have see audience really liked it this trolls haters cant impact anything now the legs can be bad but it wont be bc of them

Who said anything about troll haters? Just because you dislike a movie or the direction a franchise you have been loyal to takes does not make you a troll.  I'm a Marvel fan, but, I really do not like Paul Rudd, so I chose to skip his Ant-Man movies, but it does not make me a troll. Heck, I remember going to a theatrical marathon for Age of Ultron, and watched all the MCU films leading up to it. I was excited for this movie, and it ended up being a major disappointment. I have never watched the movie again since, so, am I troll because I hated it?
