  1. So based on the box office chart for this weekend, it pretty well looks like the F4 is officially finished if it wasn't already in it's OW.. This Bitch has all but disappeared off the radar..

That's because something like Fantastic Four is sold on it's sex appeal. The first one had freaking Jessica Alba and Chris Evans in it (who had some shirtless scenes nonetheless) and when you take out why people saw the movie, you don't get the money. Simple as that.

  2. Plus, the WOM is FANTASTIC!!

Just last week, we had people saying that Compton would be lucky to get 24 million OW, it got that opening night. Then come this week, they were all saying it would drop like a rock, and it looks to drop a pretty good 50%. I love it! I know people were writing this off simply because it's about a genre they don't care about.

  3. If SOC makes over 140 m, Hollywood is going to be greenlighting quite a few music biopics.

I doubt any of them come close to SOC though. It just happened to be release when police brutality is a hot topic and the urban crowd had little options at the theater.

I also think alot of it has to do with the music and it's era too. Really, do you think Guardians of the Galaxy would have been the hit it was if the trailer was just playing the same ol orchestra type music? People who grew up in the 70's, 80's and 90's have been wanting to see more movies that reflect those eras one way or another, and no better way than to do that than through music from those eras.

  4. There's some scenes where O'Shea Jr. looks so much like Ice Cube it's legitimately terrifying. It's almost like it's the world's most incredible special effect. Anyway, movie was great. Pacing was real off in the third act but it hits so hard and the energy and raw ruthless strength, much like in the the album itself, rises to the forefront. A great time. Jason Mitchell who played Eazy was INCREDIBLE every time he was on screen. I'm writing him in with a pen on my Boffies Best Supporting Actor noms. I don't see how that isn't one of the five best male supporting performances I see all year.

Agree 100%. Just saw the movie, and it's just a great, really solid, no bullshit movie. And Jason Mitchell fucking rocked! He definitely deserves at least an oscar nod for this, he was that fantastic!

  5. I got mad when they killed the dog.

I'll try as hard as I can to avoid movies where dogs get killed. It just doesn't sit well with me when watching movies. I watch movies for enterntainment, and I find 0 entertainment in seeing dogs, or other animals or kids getting killed in movies, just for shock and awe. I can deal with movies like LOTR or westerns and even Jaws, because it was the kind of times they were, but stuff like I am Legend or Fear (this is the movie that has me checking to see reviews to see if dogs die or not in the movie) It's one thing if it's like Marley and Me, but it's something altogether when it's like it was in Fear. I have yet to see I Am Legend, or even Life of Pi, because I just don't care to see the animals killed. Same with Noah. I'd love to see the movie, but I just can't. It'll upset me to much, so I'll just avoid it.

    TED 2: $20.3M Overseas Total / $53.2M Global Total ‪#‎Ted2‬

Not even OS will save it.

Is there anything given that people even liked the first Ted? Just because it did decent at the BO the first time around doesn't mean that people liked it. Maybe it was too mean spirited of a comedy for most, especially right now with all of the bullshit going on in the real world.

  7. Holy shit, she wasn't even 17 when they filmed the Baby One More Time video. I was only 12-13 at that time too but now it feels kinda perverted to say that was the best she ever looked.

Huh? Nah, the best she ever looked was when she was on stage with that snake.

And close behind would have been her MTV Oops I did it Again performance.

  8. Totally agree. :)

Gotta wonder though...how come Marvel haven't released their movies in December or February? Two much less competitive months and enough room to build legs.

Actually, now with JW's huge domestic lead, thanks to summer weekdays, I am starting to wonder if the notion that a movie everyone wants to see could be released at anytime of the year. Perhaps AOU could have done better if it was released after Memorial Day. But then again, the movie was lackluster.

  9. So, with Jurassic Park and Fast Seven being enormous hits for Universal, why don't they make their own little crossover movie where Dom and his gang have to go visit this mysterious island to bring back some animals, and then realize the animals are Jurassic Park dinosaurs that were stolen by a competing company (maybe the company that was dealing with Nedry in the first Jurassic Park.)

  10. Well..it's best for Bay, not to direct TF5. At least Paramount could find a director who knows about how to make the writing and script better in quality. You know....improve the quality.

Cause again..its the Bayhem formula that makes his movies bad and hated.

I know which director would be a better replacement.

    J.J Abrams...or Francis Lawrence.

At least they know when to put a good focus on the script.

Oh look, it's another internet puppet that has latched onto the "lets hate on Michael Bay because it's the cool thing to do!" Yawn!
