  1. In holds, GOTG2 saw slight dips in Finland (-20%), Switzerland (-30%), France (-37%), Chile (-39%), the Netherlands (-43%), Australia (-43%), Bolivia (-43%), Brazil (-44%) and Venezuela (-45%). Overall when looking at last weekend’s openers, the drop-off was 52%. That’s slightly ahead of Captain America: Civil War which dropped 55% for the same suite of markets in weekend 2. You were right. Look at this drop. WOM doesn't look good. lol
  2. $48m China + $13.3m Korea + $11.6m Rússia +~$4m (small markets)= $76.9m $124m - $76.9m = $47.1m from last weekends' markets. So, ~56% drop with no big competition. Not good really. The great WOM is not helping it.
  3. I had answered you already. Stop with this question, please. This is annoyning. Power Rangers 4 days MD - ¥27.9k #3 OD - ¥487.6k #1 ST - $127.6k #1 King Arthur 4 days MD - ¥9.6k #8 OD - ¥156.6k #3 ST - ¥83.3k #2
  4. There's something wrong. Is $167m until thursday with Russia's and Korea's OD?
  5. $145m isn't happening IMO. Friday numbers aren't promising there. From keysersoze123 in China thread: ""68.67million at 6PM. its run rate is around 6.5m per hour. At this rate it could miss 100m. I hope run rate increases to 10m per hour at least till 9PM so that it finishes somewhere around 105m. > 110m is not happening for sure."" ¥100m = $14.5m OD I keep my $110m total prediction.
  6. Now with tuesday + wednesday numbers is proved there is a big difference between a may day on sunday and a may day on monday. The compensation can be individual with the staff getting any day off. Doesn't means the day will be the same nationality.
  7. I don't see what's the problem. Like me, he wants understanding how this holiday works in another countries. "1 May is celebrated as May Day in most countries around the world. In the United Kingdom and Ireland the bank holiday isn't fixed on May 1st, but instead is observed on the first Monday of May. " http://www.officeholidays.com/countries/global/may_day.php Yes, there are another markets, but I don't see how CW's OS holiday was as big as Guardians 2's OS holiday. Brazil and Mexico weren't a holiday on may 2nd 2016 for example. It's like to compare a regional holiday with a national holiday.
  8. I agree. It's always the same thing: People have huge expectations before the release, and once the movie released, and ends below their expectations, they start claiming how good the movie is doing, "forgetting" what they predicted just few weeks ago. It was the same thing with Ultron, when most of people predicted it to be above the first movie, but, pretended that it was a great performance when it dropped and ended being overshadowed by Furious 7.
  9. Wow. I didn't expect this negative review. Again the movie is disappointing. First on ow, now about "quality". Sad. The wom is strong... The negative wom at seems. I believe that no competition and the curiosity of people about how bad it is will give it an increase next weekend.
  10. You not even read what I was talking about. I was explaining my point about Guardians not being a big risk. Read them before reply, please. Barnack is understanding my point.
  11. I admit PR's flop and I liked the movie very much. Fanaticism is not to admit a disappointment because you are a fan... and I'm sure GotG2 was one here.
  12. I'm going to watch it next week. Yes, it disappointed on OW, but the wom is very strong. A lot of people are talking about the movie and they've convinced me to watch it. Without any competition and with this incredible WOM, it may has a small increase next weekend.
  13. "Currently" ever was in tittle They were only examples of the diference between a risk and a big risk. I could to say another Disney movie too like Tomorrowland. I think you not even knows what we were talking about.
  14. 2006... In time when Disney tried... I was just curious. In tittle's thread there is the word... "currently".What you saidt is from more than a decade ago. The days of Disney trying something new are gone
  15. It was a bad idea for a family movie? Really no. The movie looked stupid and so it was, but I liked still.
  16. EVERY move is a risk. "Oh God, a company which has a market value of $169 bi put $0,4 bi of investiment in a big brand with 8 success and 2 movies over $1bi..." Big risk it had. So bold Disney is.
  17. Exactly, it was a risk, like every movie, but not a big one. People here argue the brand wasn't strong in 2014, but Marvel had 8 success before GotG (2 movies over $1 bi). Saying Guardians it was a big risk is the same as saying Fantastic Beasts it was a big risk. It wasn't. Big risk it was Jupiter Ascending, Titanic, Iron Man, Cloud Atlas, Matrix, Avatar... These movies needed to prove something. GotG or FB hadn't to prove nothing, because their brand had proved the formula already (both with 8 movies). This is my POV.
  18. Yeah, it was a risk like every movie, but not tooo big, I guess. It was almost Iron man in space. http://www2.boxoffice.com/featured_stories/2014-06-long-range-forecast-guardians-of-the-galaxy
  19. True, but Marvel had too little to loose after the success of Iron Man 1, 2, 3, Capitain America 1 and 2, Thor 1 and 2 and Avengers. 8 success they had already. But I agree in parts with you.
  20. Guardians disappointing is a great news for Alien. It won't share IMAX shows!!!
