Predict Star Trek Into Darkness's weekend gross as a percent of the Top 12 weekend gross 3. Predict Star Trek Into Darkness's weekend per theater average 4. Predict Iron Man 3's 3rd weekend gross as a percent of The Great Gatsby's opening weekend gross (50.09 million) 5. Predict The Great Gatsby's Sunday percent drop from last Sunday
  2. I know I am falling behind. Scores will be up, along with points, this week. Because it is such a busy week for me, I do not know if there will be a Challenge held this week (chances are there won't), but there will be something in store. In addition, that would mean a double, triple, or quadruple elimination Challenge would be in store for next week. That said, I am going to go ahead and put up next week's game, because it's the Star Trek game and you surely all want to predict Star Trek. These next two weeks will be the busiest weeks of my life, perhaps, so we'll just have to go with it one step at a time. I will try to have all scores finalized as soon as possible (it shouldn't be no later than tomorrow or Friday).
  3. I feel so bad JohnnY, cause I deceived you. Don't hate me! ...I'll go over something with you in secrecy. Wink wink.
  4. I don't like eliminating a player like this. Thoughts? Out of fairness, Jay did win so there is no way by which he will be eliminated. I just feel like an ass for mistakingly admitting JohnnY onward, through an error on my part. That said, the rules of the Challenge and of the game are clear that the loser shall be eliminated in any elimination-based Challenge (which constitute the majority of all Challenges in the game). By those clear rules, JohnnY is eliminated as the loser in this Challenge. It's a tough bid, and a mistake on my part, but abiding by the rules, JohnnY should be eliminated. Terrible also given how close a Challenge it was. It could've went either way, as there was less than 0.20% separating the two contestants.
  5. I. Suck. So. Much. How could I be so stupid? GAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  6. The Challenge - Week 5 Results Jay Salahi versus JohnnY. Only one could win. Both are rookies, new to the came, so this is a toss up. Let's see how it turned out. There were two Challenges. However, because both players answered both sets of questions, I decided to come up with a compromise. As it turns out, JohnnY won the Thursday Challenge, but Jay Salahi won the Friday Challenge. So, out of fairness, I decided to average the two Challenges together. Here are their final scores: Jay Salahi: JohnnY:
  7. I will try to have scores up today. It is my last week of school, so I'm busy busy. But we'll see just what happens. It should be up though soon. The Challenge for sure will be up in a moment.
  8. Too bad Existence wasn't there on Memorial Day to rouse up a 150 million+ opening...which it would have received.
  9. He didn't mean he's not worried he didn't do bad. He's worried about Jay and The Challenge...because if Jay didn't do good enough to beat JohnnY in The Challenge, then Jay is eliminated.
  10. Well if you answered both and JohnnY didn't answer the Thursday (I haven't checked if he has), then I guess if you're fine with it Jay, we'll just do the Friday ones.
  11. The Challenge - Iron Man Special JohnnY accepted his special Gamble prize, which means he will be enterring The Challenge this week. If he wins, he wins a free immunity to be used at the time of his choosing. If he loses, he will be eliminated. Who will he be competing against? Well, each of the following players purchased an immunity for 6 points: Chasmmi, CEDAR, Spaghetti, ChD, Riczhang, and Acsc1312. Anyone else who opted to buy one will not have points deducted because the next player that did not purchase an immunity was... An odd twist of fate, given that this player could afford immunity. He decided not to purchase one. Ironically, both players could have abstained from The Challenge this week, but perhaps they made smart decisions to save their points, and also to gain potential points/immunities. So now it will be a J war, and here is their Challenge: 1. Predict Iron Man 3's Friday gross 2. Predict Pain and Gain's Friday per theater average 3. Predict Oblivion's Friday percent increase DEADLINE: FRIDAY AT 8:00 P.M. EASTERN (7:00 P.M. CENTRAL) H O W E V E R - If you guys can respond even sooner than this, like by 2:00 A.M. tomorrow morning, we will do this Challenge instead. 1. Predict Iron Man 3's Thursday gross 2. Predict Pain and Gain's Thursday per theater average 3. Predict Oblivion's Thursday percent change from Wednesday DEADLINE: FRIDAY AT 2:00 A.M. EASTERN (1:00 A.M. CENTRAl)*** ***I would much prefer if you guys could do this Challenge instead, and if you do, the results will be able to be posted before Monday for once! It would save time, but if you guys cannot get to this Challenge, then go ahead and do the Friday one instead. Please try to do the second one though. Thank you!
  12. Iron Man 3 Special Monday Bonus Round The results are in. 14 of you answered this special bonus question. Below are the rankings for the question. 14th place. 13th place: 12th place: 11th place: 10th place: 9th place: 8th place: 7th place: 6th place: 5th place: 4th place: 3rd place: 2nd place: 1st place: Congratulations!
  13. War Round 3 The remaining 6 players will now be grouped into groups of 3. The winner of each group moves on to the final round of War. Each remaining player is ranked with either a 1, a 2, or a 3. The two players ranked at 1 are... Team 1: Team 2: Joining each of them, with ranks 2, are... Team 1: Team 2: And joining with ranks 3 are... Team 1: Team 2: So that means the final teams are: TEAM 1: TEAM 2: The winner of each team moves on to the finale. Here are this round's questions: 1. Predict Iron Man 3's Friday per theater average 2. Predict The Great Gatsby's Friday and Saturday per theater average (add the two) 3. Predict Oblivion's Friday gross as a percent of its Saturday gross DEADLINE: FRIDAY AT 8:00 P.M. EASTERN (7:00 P.M. CENTRAL)
  14. Legend Quarter All but one Legend have been casted onto teams. DoctorWho sits on "The Earth Shakers", Alfred rests comfortably on "The Destroyers of Evil", and Riczhang, Acsc, and CEDAR join forces on "The Shadowkillers." Now, Goffe is the last legend to be cast this season. He will be a powerful asset, and the team he is going to be added to is... Now, this means all but one of the teams have a Legend (one team has 3) to help prepare them for the next exciting stage of the season. The stage is being set, and soon all hell will break loose.
  15. Alfred, Goffe...I have not yet gone over the past few weeks to add in your points from earlier games. I will have those updated along with everyone else's point totals, but for now, I need everyone to confirm if they'll be willing to buy an immunity (or multiple immunities). The price for immunity will be 6 points. Everyone please tell me here or in your PM if you will be willing to buy one or multiple, and points will only be deducted where necessary.
  16. The Iron Man Special is still well underway, but in the meantime, I want to go ahead and get this one out there so you guys get the typical 48 hour prepare window. Season 4, Game 6 Deadline: Friday, May 10 at 5:00 P.M. Eastern (4:00 P.M. Central) 1. Predict The Great Gatsby's Saturday share of its weekend gross as a percent 2. Predict Iron Man 3's percent drop 3. Predict Iron Man 3's domestic ten-day total, or its total through Sunday 4. Predict Peeple's opening weekend gross 5. Predict the difference in weekend grosses between Pain and Gain and Oblivion.
  17. Points have been added in. However, I am not yet finished adding points in for Goffe for the past few weeks, if he earned any (which he did). Also, I still have your Monday bonus to score and points to add for that. I will have it all updated soon, we will proceed with the usual Challenge (or perhaps it's not so usual). But first to get a look at some of the surprises that were attached to the questions. Question 1: Question 2: Question 3: Question 4: Question 5: Question 6: Question 7: Question 8: Question 9: Question 10:
  18. For a complete compiliation of all players of the series, including their statistics and biographical details of their seasonal performances. To be updated seasonally.
  19. Season 3 After "The Shadowkillers" swept in Season 2, a huge reshuffling occurred, and all players were found partnerless. Scrambling to fine partners, the first new teams emerged at the start of Season 3. Over a four week period, new teams rose, including the resurrection of "The Shadowkillers." Seeking to avenge their titles, CEDAR and Acsc plotted to emerge victorious once again by trumping the other teams, but this season they, and others, were meant with many new, exciting challenges, and some of the series' most epic showdowns. The season began with 20 players, all individual at the start of the season. The start of the season was met with ambiguity for the 20 contestants as they had never before witnessed such a long and drawn out partner selection session. It also saw the birth of some new star players, including most prominently Baumer. Season 3 saw many changes in the format of the game, and the story grew increasingly dramatic as "The Shadowkillers" lost their flare, and a series of new individuals stepped up to take the throne. The season can be divided into four quarters. In the first quarter, the partner selection process endured until all players were either assimilated onto teams or eliminated. This session brought about the unexpected end of great players like Fakhir and Tawasal. The second session concerned the Special Host weeks, in which two forum regulars were assigned to oversee the running of the game for two weeks. Gopher and Shawn fulfilled this role and ensured the players would see hell. This session brought about an end to all the teams of the season, and gave birth to the legendary status of its victors, namely Totem and Goffe. But it also saw the demise of XenoZodiac and, consequently, CEDAR, the glorious Shadowkiller victor of Season 2 who lost earlier on this season. The third arc was centered around the start of the Top Ten games, in which the final ten contestants competed. The majority were veterans of high esteem, and this phase saw the unexpected eliminations of Totem and Acsc1312, the star of Box Office Alliance to this point. The final phase of the season has been referred to as the Champion Battleground, in which the Final Five contestants competed in a gruelsome competition against each other, outsiders, and the game's own host to determine the winner. The season saw many changes from the previous two seasons. The first change came in the partner selection procress, which occurred over a four week period. Also, there was much more emphasis on individual credit than on team skill, as the team's were much more temporary than ever before. The introduction of the Special Hosts was an unexpected twist that garnered mixed reviews, with some blaming it for causing the special guest hosts to bear too much authority (which at one point caused the unfair elimination of Alfred). And the Final Five games contained six, rather than five, players and were marked with a much different focus than usual. The players of those games competed against "bosses" rather than against each other, and they had to pass several levels to make it to the finale. Many of these changes affected future seasons. In particular, the season gave rise to the status of Legends, or players held in the highest esteem in the series. In future seasons, Legends would be granted certain elite status, privilege, and even power that was not available to other players. A major emphasis of Season 3 was on the identity of the Lone Legend, who was revealed in the season finale to be Riczhang, a former contestant in Season 2. The original teams were (formed over weeks 1-4) (in order of chronological appearance): "Rich Boy Swag", "Ice Ice Baumy", "The Annihilators", "The FireEaters", "Dracula's Minions", "The Shadowkillers", and "The Towering Tools" The teams formed after the Special Hosts games were: "The Overlords", "The Elites", "The Predators", "Team Redemption", and "The A-Team" The Top Ten finalists were: Acsc1312, Alfred, Baumer, ChD, DoctorWho, Goffe, JackO, RichWS, Riczhang, and Totem The Final Five Champions were: Alfred, Baumer, DoctorWho, Goffe, JackO, and Riczhang In the season finale, the two finalists who made it past the "bosses" of the previous two games in the Final Five Championship competed against each other. They were newcomer Baumer and Season 2 veteran Riczhang. Prior to the showdown, an awards ceremony was held to recognize the achievement of the players that season, and the Player of the Season nominees were revealed. Riczhang won the season and was crowned the Lone Legend, but Baumer went on to win the Player of the Season award despite finishing in second place. Only Baumer and Riczhang were present in all 15 episodes of the season, and JackO appeared in 14 episodes. Series' star Acsc was present in only 11 episodes of the season and missed the last 4 episodes. 20. 4.5 "Iron Man 3 Special" Yes. It's that time of the season. The seasonal Special Edition Episode has arrived...and it's a biggy. This week focused almost entirely on the juggernaut "Iron Man 3", and the teams competed to score highest on questions pertaining to the summer kick-off smash hit. There are a lot of surprises in store this week, and we will get to those momentarily. We have unmasked all but one Legend now. Alfred has been cast onto "The Destroyers of Evil" with partners Chasmmi and Spaghetti. The dominant Legend brings with him a great tool to be used soon...and it may benefit "The Destroyers" immensely...or it may hurt them. Already we have seen what one Legend's power was...but Totem's power was the weakest of all the Legend's powers, for Totem was eliminated earliest on. Alfred bears a much stronger weapon than a simple team creation chip. But Alfred is not the only Legend on the playing field. Four others stand tall and strong: DoctorWho stands the lone legend of "The Earth Shakers" with 24Lost and veteran SchumacherFTW. Soon we will see where his status ranks on the Legend field, as an epic duel is about to be unearthed, and the Earth truly will shake. Could it be that the three most powerful legends have been grouped together? Acsc and CEDAR alone amount for an almost unsurmountable force as the original "Shadowkillers" now turned into "ShadowLegends"...and Riczhang is the Lone Legend. "The Shadowkillers" are as ever poised to strike, and though they've yet to win, they got a great treasure up each of their sleeves. It is not yet time to reveal that, though. One other Legend remains hidden in anonymity, but tonight, he shall be born again. And the chips are playing in favor of all out war. But now we focus instead on the results of our Special. This season's Special saw some incredible scores across the board, including a new record for individual and team highest averages...albeit, there was a slew of bonuses to inflate the scores. Even without them, most people posted their most solid scores of the season (some of their entire run in Box Office Alliance). Consequently, it was one of the closest showdowns in Alliance history, and we may have a new champion on the field now. "The Destroyers of Evil" have been running strong so far this season, and "The Gold Seekers" have leaped up after last week. Now "The Destroyers" are joined by the Legend Alfred, and also by newcomer JohnnY, a boss from Season 3 who appeared in one of the Final Five games. JohnnY was formerly a member of "The Imperials" with EmpireStrikesBack and Fakhir, but as both players have been eliminated, he now has been moved to "The Destroyers of Evil". Could this wildcard play in their favor? The Special has a number of surprises in store, so let's get to it! The Destroyers of Evil Alfred: 85.61% +3 (+1 3rd team, +1 85%+, +1 highest Bonus 3) Chasmmi: 99.78% +12 (+4 2nd individual, +1 3rd team, +4 95%+, +1 highest Question 4 with Bonus, +1 highest Bonus 5, +1 all scores 90%+ with bonus) JohnnY: 99.08% +15 (+3 3rd individual, +1 3rd team, +4 95%+, +2 highest Question 5, +1 highest Question 6 with Bonus, +1 highest Bonus 1, +3 all scores 90%+) Spaghetti: 96.45% +6 (+1 3rd team, +4 95%+, +1 all scores 90%+ with bonus) AVERAGE: 95.23% The Earth Shakers 24Lost: 95.46% +6 (+4 95%+, +2 highest Question 6) DoctorWho: 94.67% +3 (+3 90%+) Schumacher FTW: 95.46% +6 (+4 95%+, +2 highest Question 6) AVERAGE: 95.20% +15 The Equation Sensation 4815162342: 100.46% +20 (+5 highest individual, +3 1st team, +5 100%+, +3 record breaker, +3 record breaker, +1 all scores 90%+ with bonus) Jim Shorts: 97.66% +17 (+1 5th highest individual, +3 1st team, +4 95%+, +3 record breaker, +1 highest Bonus 1, +4 won Challenge 4, +1 all scores 90%+ with bonus) AVERAGE: 99.06% +37 The Gold Seekers ChFloppit: 96.44% +9 (+4 95%+, +2 highest Question 1, +2 highest Question 8, +1 all scores 90%+ with bonus) Jay Salahi: 88.42% +2 (+2 85%+) AVERAGE: 91.43% +11 The Shadowkillers Acsc1312: 96.78% +8 (+2 2nd team, +4 95%+, +2 highest Question 2) CEDAR: 98.38% +16 (+2 4th individual, +2 2nd team, +4 95%+, +1 highest Question 2 with Bonus, +2 highest Question 4, +2 highest Question 7, +2 highest Question 10, +1 all scores 90%+ with bonus) Riczhang: 95.94% +6 (+2 2nd team, +4 95%+) AVERAGE: 97.03% +30 Impressive! Several records were broken tonight. Firstly, a new individual highest average record has been set by 4815162342, who scored over 100% when bonuses are accounted for. Secondly, a new team highest average record has been set, also by "The Equation Sensation", who dominated with 99.06% as their final score. And thirdly, a new record for greatest majority over 90% scores has been set, with all but two participants (out of 14*) scoring over 90%, and 11(*) of them making over 95%. A great week. And now for the reveal of the final Legend...who shall come into play after so many weeks of dormancy. This is a strong player, beloved by many, feared by some, respected by all. He's been around since the inception of Season 2, played a strong game that season, and came back in full force last season when he nearly won...and perhaps would have had he managed to show up in his final hour. But a glorious player nonetheless, he finally comes back into action this week. The final Legend is... Points and Challenge details coming. And other surprises.
  21. They should be all up today, but in an hour or so.
  22. It's a pretty lengthy scoring process guys. You end up having a total of 7 bonuses (well 8 actually). Some of these scores are marvelous.
  23. Maybe...let's see. The Challenge - Week 4 Results The results are in. Fakhir versus Jim Shorts. Who won...and who's going home? Fakhir: Jim Shorts:
  24. This is definitely going to be the first year since before Y3 that The Creator wasn't nominated for BP.
