  2. I love the idea, like the cast, the plot is fine, but Gary Ross is no Soderbergh. This looks like a high budget studio comedy. Oceans 11 was a actual film with directorial style/vision and voice. Should be a hit though.
  3. Actually when it comes to the Themepark side people aren't giant fans of Iger.... Movie fans love him way more. Theme park forums kinda bag on him and have for years. He neglected and went cheap on the parks up until recently it seems. He runs the theme park poorly overall, everything he has greenlit has gone way way way over budget. They havent been meeting the numbers they want in Orlando now that Universal is a powerhouse #2, disney hotel occupancy rates are doing post 9/11 numbers.... Universal in Japan passed the Tokyo disney in attendance last year for the first time ever. Disney Paris is still un profitable and in the red , Hong Kong disneyland is lost. attendance hasn't really gone up in love a decade and the local ocean park beats them in attendance. Oh and Iger ended up loosing JL rowling to Universal. He wouldn't meet her demands and passed. Universal since acquiring Potter has over doubled its revenue. He woke a sleeping giant.
  4. Yeah I also feel personality wise I'm close to Ian Malcolm and have always connected with him. I have a similar attitude for better or worse.
  5. This is exactly how I feel. Although I do like the idea of a casino planet or port.
  6. Yeah but not with me, no idea what he thinks. The podcast will be fun (probably full video of us too) Gotta be honest, I did not dig it. It didn't even occur to me before hand that I could not like this movie as much as I do.
  7. As someone who pays there bills in the industry you guys don't realize. lots and lot of jobs will be lost and this will effect everything down to Tv shows, promos, commercials, youtube web shows, Its really bad for any below the line crew. this isn't music. todays music is made by 2 or 3 people in a room. Thats all it takes to make something sound 10000% professional. A song is 3 minutes. A movie is 90 minutes of music plus 90 minutes of acting, sets, costumes, make up, lighting, months of catering, driving, etc, the lost goes on and on and on. making a movie is like building a city for a year. Imagine if tomorrow you said ok as an INDUSTRY construction contractors were going to make 15% less large scale construction projects for the rest of time . LOTS of people would lose work. same thing here. THIS IS THE ISSUE. The value of enteraitnment is dropping. Im sorry but but hundreds of people working on something should cost something. How are we going to have movies in 15 years when people demands 1,000's of hours a year of new content for 1 cheap price? This just pushes us there faster. Its not a business monopoly but remember were not viewing if its good for business. Maybe so. But for the ART form of FILM, something you all better fucking LOVE, its a bad thing there is no argument. This is why we are angry. its bad for the ART FORM.
  8. Also keep in mind Mickey Mouse is and was supposed to be fair use. Its been over 100 years..... Disney paid people off. Mickey will never be a publicly licensed character. They even tried to sue the Dj DeadMau5.
  9. You're paying a for a huge seasonal event which is separate admission and for paying for front of the line passes so duhhhhhhhh. You didnt have to pay that much. Thats not the issue. universal never had fast pass. They have regular line and then its 100 bucks for front of the line (which doesn't effect capacity) Disney has a regular line, plus FREE fast pass, plus now you can reserve a ride time months in advance on vacation ( which KILLS hourly capacity) . Which is cool for them but the average wait time during the day for an "average guest" is 30% more now. but tickets are more expensive. Its a completely different set up.
  10. Side note but relevant I guess. Remember Disneyland is 125 bucks a day... it was 45 in 2001. 1,100 a year Knotts Berry farm is 92 bucks for a year, Six flags is 85 a year. Cheapest hotel at the disney world cost more than a upper mid tier hotel at Universal orlando resort (which every single disney site agrees is nicer too) The disney theme park fans are mad disney has been getting cheaper* with there money every single year. Penny pinching. They raised tickets every year for 15 years at disneyland again, while as a whole they cut park hours, less operating hours, and cut one show time per show a day, Less fireworks and such (too expensive) Why did they cut all this, because China Disney went over budget. You can buy fox for 75 billion but have to make all our theme park close an hour earlier one year because your "tight" on cash. LOL. At Disneyland a report came out saying guest are getting on 15-20% less rides because of new pay for play fast past programs that slow up wait times... Do they care? Nope. fan sites complain every day but they doing it because spending is up. And Disney is a DICK to Anaheim. La times was right. Ive been following that story for almost a decade. Disney is also a HUGE dick to its theme park employees . You have to park off site, wait for a bus, get back stage and change before your allowed to clock in. you gotta show up 30 - 45 minutes early everyday unpaid to be on time. They decided NOT to build a closer parking garage for them for the last half decade because the city wouldn't give them a tax cut. Cry babies. they have the money.
  11. That seems 100000% impossible. You guys are insane. If disney thought Avatar was that big in china there is NO way they wouldn't have built Avatar land in China.
  12. So did Japan... but if the sequels are huge hits I'm sure they'd change their minds.
  13. Idk anything about Avatar and china box office.... But I do know that Shanghai Disney land passed on building a Avatar land....
  14. On a side note I have some Disney Stock though.... Bought that shit in 7th grade for 25 bucks a pop! Smart move. Should have bought way more.
  15. Honestly if you support his, you're straight up breaking my heart. I wrote a 4 paragpragh long thing I cant post and wont even get into. Ive never ever been this angry before on the forums. Most of you guys make me sad. George Lucas was right!!! This is how Liberty dies! To Thunderous Applause.
