Actually no one has been a massive part of any film since Endgame(Only DS had some major role in NWH). There isn't any Avengers movie in phase 4 or 5 & they haven't announced Avengers 5 cast yet, so no one actually knows who is important and who isn't.
Ummm this is all Wong.

He was referring to Thor4, Ant-Man3, and may be even MoM, not The Marvels, when he said "too many sequels." He considers Captain Marvel (I don't know if he would still consider her a flagship character after this disaster at box office) a flagship Marvel character; she is one of the four Marvel characters present on his Twitter header. He must be very disappointed with the result, so it is not surprising that he only talked about The Marvels flopping but not Haunted Mansion or The Wish.
Are you suggesting that Captain Marvel is a more important character than Thor? And Dr. Strange is a B character but even he is more important than Carol Danvers.

I predicted like $550-600M The Marvels pre-tracking
To be fair to you, there were tons of marvel cheerleaders on here saying it was too big of a drop for The Marvels from Captain Marvel.

RIght wing crap.
I know you are a DeSantis supporter, but his white house bid has been in free fall for along time.
No clue where you got that from when I'm a proud Democrat and have voted for the Democratic nominee in every election since I was old enough to vote.
It's clear as day and Bob Iger has even said as much that waddling into politics was a bad move for his predecessor/former successor. Disney played in the mud with the pigs and just got dirty. I'm sure other CEOs took notice of the backlash to Disney and have learned from it.

Disney really fucked up with that whole DeSantis thing. Between that, all their studios losing quality, and Disney plus re-training most of the general audience, they really have the perfect shit-storm of loss audience and it might take years to win most of them back.

can they please cut ties with this dude already please.
Why would they remove these? Looney tunes is a WB staple. I showed the classic shorts to my grand nephews just a few days ago so they can see something other than mind numbing bluey.

I think this may be the first news we've actually had about Zombies since the cast was announced.
“marvel zombies is about Kamala Khan”interest fading fast.

On the marketing side, they acted like this was an established IP when it was original IP as far as the GA was concerned. Again, they let Staton have approval over marketing decisions why?
Long live the super bowl spot that just focused on the name John Carter and you could barely see the visuals of the movie lol

So am I the only one who sees Dakota Johnsons acting ability from the trailers on par with Anna Farris in the Scary Movie franchise?
Her line readings are abysmal. All these years, I thought her acting in Fifty Shades of Grey was on purpose.

Sue was an afterthought or dumb eye candy in the previous film iterations. I don't mind her being the lead. That sounds like a good idea in my opinion. Using a female version of The Silver Suffer instead of the more popular male version seems a bit pointless to me. I'm meh on the idea. If they want another prominent female role then just use a female character from the Marvel comics.
Using a female silver surfer is just begging for MSheU videos at this point.

Pedro Pascal? Javier Bardem? Who let them cook?

The Color Purple is also a WB release.

'No they don't have to do that. Most audiences didn't see Thor and Captain America til after Avengers had already come out.

Damn if only there were a family friendly property with a movie filmed with over the top slapstick that kids could enjoy. Something really... wily.
They literally have a naked dating show on max showing full frontal. No responsible parent(lol) would ever leave their kid in front of the max app all day the way that they do Disney plus.- 2

That is way too many projects. What the hell is Witches Road? I haven't even heard of that.

James Gunn gave his characters depth and heart even with the dick and Jackson Pollock jokes. That's the only reason I have any faith in Superman Legacy being good. Because Gunn actually gives a shit about writing good characters.

I cannot believe how BOM has imploded the past five years. Utterly horrific and really took a big hit on my enjoyment in following box office.
I miss going on BOM and comparing the stats for sequels to their predecessors by daily box office. Anything thats fun to look at was locked behind a paywall.

Next segment on Morning Joe on MSNBC this morning is about marvel's dominance at the box office being over. Last time I remember this channel mentioning marvel was when Black Panther came out.
Edited to add, they went in on Disney buying up IPs and mismanaging them. Said that Star Wars has been mismanaged, Indiana Jones was a flop and 61 percent is not a good RT score. Joe Scarborough also said that maybe marvel can't be a hit maker without RDJ. The financial analyst countered that it can be done but they actually have to make good movies

@SpiderByte I bet he thinks Inhumans was super popular too since they started appearing in marvel media around 2013, years before they finally made it to live action.

Loki is hands down the best mcu series and thats not recency bias. I thought it was top 3 earlier this year when people were lumping it in with the likes of she-hulk and falcon but now I'm sure of it that its the best show since it had a better ending than Wandavision.

I was just on a marvel group on Facebook and this has to be the worst take I’ve read all weekend:
“Box office Grossings does not = quality.
Top Gun 2 was one of the highest grossings of 2022. That film was predictable af.
The Marvels is a decent flick despite it's modest grossings. If you judge a film based on it's grossings, that is very sad.”- 4

I'll never understand people complaining about "quiet moments slowing the pacing". Giving the audience a chance to breath is a good thing, not a bad thing.
