  2. me = not (probably dead then), but I was at the BOM forums too (other user name and mostly silent reader, then way less English skills), mostly used their finals charts. Was for those very early into their launch also at The-Numbers.com, its older than some here might guess I think (older than BOM). at the very first moment I misunderstood it as Titanic pushing A down to drown (thought its a fan made thing). I guess too many 'mine is bigger / better / whatever' posts, not used to normalcy for the moment anymore? The comments there are something else My pupils have this week lots of finals exams (different grades, different levels to reach), not mine as in my subject, but the pupils also being pupils in my subject, sat and will sit for other subjects this week. = reminds me: how is the studying going? Do you have a good feel about it? Need pep talk? Fingers crossed...
  3. not correct according to some posts and social media reaction I read. Depends also on the age of the children, if all are the approbate age an fully into it, it happens, that one parent or both drives them rather often and either sit in with them or use the time for e.g. a fitness thing or.... I know I did so for my nephews then, and later for my son as he still was a teen (who now as an adult accompanies me instead, if he has time and interest)
  4. yes and no for the most that will be right (in especial 1-time repeater), but if a long enough time has passed, other details enter your thinking, your day-to-day live, so instead of watching it maybe e.g. 6 times as some here do, those with family or a demanding profession, being in exams,... might only watch it 3 or 4 times instead
  5. Ahhhh don't remind me Me probably the same age or so (nearing the next big number) totally agree. But me working at a school can also say: families with age of the children varying, or smaller children need babysitter, who need to be back at their homes at certain times too... longer, more expensive = weekend the grandparents might take them... = as mentioned, for the first 'have to see it' time, yes, but for a repeat, .. I do think the run time has an impact. Not to all of the audience, but parts of it. I think the first week had a lot of spillovers, the try to avoid spoilers... and repeat views of younger people, but after the second weekend, with the spillover being served, I am absolute not surprised the people get back to be more sensible again. Children movies (families) are even under 90 minutes at times, not every movie for older audience is even reaching a 2 hours runtime.... = I think its not even 'only a half hour' difference, its a full hour, even if other movies also had longer running times in the past.
  6. that too was what I meant, its a bit crazy all in all, we will have to look at the graphs and such in a few weeks and again, if another big blockbuster with a real high buzz gets released, look into common and not-common details... Hahaha, I feel the same Maybe we will get Chinese patterns in a few years for the big blockbuster and similar to today- with a tendency to be a bit faster too - for normal movies? Fingers crossed that that will take as many years as possible till that happens. It feels like something MIGHT change more obviously than the little steps we got over the last some years (OW mps, previw sizes and starting times, ... too, and so on)
  7. O.K., back from helping, what did I miss..... Oh cool, totally sound arguments, that is what I looooove here so much! In addition to all what was said here in this thread, I think the immense OW was also based on the secrecy thing and spoiler avoidance thing, and as a part whatever (I know its 22, but part whatever about Thanos) = rush factor is probably also over the average even for a CBM movie, maybe even in a big way. I've seen posts like the run time argument is an excuse. I think the runtime is not such a point during OW, weekend and holidays in general, also during day-time in school free times, but if all schools are back in session (especially in times of lots of exams / finals, that might e.g. be less of a problem directly during the beginning of a new school year), than it can be a point at weekdays excluding Friday after the first rush is done/through. What I kind of think is interesting: we seem to enter a bit of another time for blockbuster (see overlapping characters, multi-parts, e.g. Fast & Furious too, not only CBM) = maybe a good start to collect data with an awareness about possible changes, to develop new qualifier for the 'drop/increase'-pattern. Fun times!
  8. Some fodder to read instead to poke? https://www.the-numbers.com/news/238850830-Daily-Box-Office-Tracking-A-Quiet-Tuesday-for-Endgame Someone take over please (Lionsgate is missing...), I have to help someone here
  9. you are both right, one goup was worse in wording, the other seemed a bit more poking / pinging and so on
  10. question: has that comic anything at ll to do with the MCU ??? (I do not think so, just in case) https://deadline.com/2019/05/cobie-smulders-pi-drama-abc-series-order-stumptown-graphic-movels-1202610098/
  11. Just realised: the most are already banned... wondering why (joke, not wondering) I seem to have from every loud fandom here one or two on the list
  12. Why I think its not that simple to compare to past high earners: too different patterns in general (Titanic's run was so long, there are still ~ $100m missing on that graph) = to fight, to be sad, to be disappointed (being disappointed with the seemingly future #1 ww?????) ... seems way too premature r Report Builder.

  16. GOT = Game of Thrones? If yes, I have not watched it yet, if I watch the series, I'll start earliest after the last episode got aired
  17. me, into ww finals, do not look too closely into pattern, so please understand this more as a question than anything else: The real Big final making releases, usually more around summer and Christmas? Older high earners total ohter pattern (like way longer in the cinemas.... = not comparable) E.g. BP had the help a bit of A IW coming after it = helped, as A EG helped CM too to a degree Its a movie with an unusual long running time. I wont rewatch it, as I am not happy with the movie, but if I'd rewatch it, I doubt I'd have the time to watch it during weekdays outside of every holidays or... I mean, for a first time 'I have to see this fast', yes, for that I'll find the time. But for a repeat? CBM more tending to shorter legs as e.g. Greek Wedding.... too You do have full school time, or?? How many / which movies do you compare that too? Any of those outside the general holiday times? Christmas? Over the average run time too? I feel that there s not really a lot to compare to, hence my question.
