  1. I do not do predictions, I am here for the finals and the reasons for those. BOT's threads are a great resource for reasons, as many point out details per country I'd otherwise missed (e.g. weather, local events, bad translations, and so on). Plus the fast majority are rather nice people, lots of fun... 😉
  2. For now they only updated Friday at BOM, OS ist still per 15 May. Estimates for OS usually Sunday, finals during Monday, if Monday is no public holiday Total Lifetime Grosses Domestic: $748,765,870 29.5% + Foreign: $1,793,400,000 70.5% = Worldwide: $2,542,165,870
  3. Today in my region it was and still is very sunny, nice temps... finally! DDef not the weather to spend the time in a cinema in my POV, but son and friends will meet in an hour for a 5 or 6 ppl sized group and finally watch AEG (he is the only one who has already seen it, then with me). Exams for some, difficulty to find a common day.... and such Upcoming week some mixed weather in Bavaria as far as I remember the weather report, but way more warm (not hot) than the last couple of weeks or so. I think beside one day mostly around 20°Celcius.
  4. As said, not the type of film I am interested into. I only read about a very big difference in ratings per gender for this film too, as several other movies either aimed at women or with females as leads and such too had to 'endure'. Acc to that article its a 6.5/10 to 7/10 movie for 'neutral' to the theme and a less than 5/10 for the antis. Based on your question I just did take a look at IMDb, and the ratings there seem to confirm that. Acc to those ratings (edit to add: ignoring a certain group of ratings) it seems to be a lowish mid-quality movie - far from the worst ever 😉 Acc the insidekinoforum it does seem to get ~ positive reactions (as in not negative, I did not reread that for this post, only out of the back of my mind) also from the accompanying men. = I have still no idea how to judge it, after reading the summary I still find myself not interested enough to watch a trailer or whatever. I think it got mentioned about too long not a movie / a few movies certain women feel like its for them or so. Whyever they like it, there seems to be a need for it of it wouldn't have increased since last week I guess. If too hungry... I guess sometimes a not perfect movie has to fill the need for now. Nothing wrong with a Currywurst / Pommes thing in between instead of a fine meal = hence my reaction.
  5. Hadn't AIW's OW neither China nor Russia opening during the 'official' OW,, and AEG only no Russia? To really compare, shouldn't China - in the case I remember it right - taken out of the OW, their BO added to the sum still, and then calculated a comparison? I guess then no one would complain anymore? Same counts for weekend drops: as usually a few countries open later, those tend to soften the OS weekend drops. If only Russia... oh, and I think Japan too (both movies) opened later, less softening of the drops in a big way see China. China opening big e.g. during the 3rd weekend elsewhere usually can mean even an increase instead of a drop. To not compare the same, but conclude as if it is the same... sounds to me not logical.
  6. Its not my type of movie, but in my POV that is rather condescendingly sounding worded.
  7. Our last cat made it to ~ 20y. Actual dog (ill) is 15y+. Agree, I'd even say it is very very young for a cat.
  8. Thread is strange news too: Exhibitor Relations Co.‏ @ERCboxoffice 2h2 hours ago More Another day, another He-Man set back; that's why it's set on Eternia, folks. Sony's MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE is lowering Castle Grayskull's drawbridge on Mar. 5, 2021. No, for reals this time...going up against Disney's NIMONA & UNIVERSAL EVENT FILM. Even Skeletor knows better. Dead cat... during the week actor and actress over under 40 died, today I was surprised to learn he actually was still living (I've seen 'The Caine Mutiny' the earlier movie version and some later TV version) till this week: Deadline Hollywood‏Verified account @DEADLINE 3h3 hours ago More Herman Wouk Dies: ‘The Winds Of War’ & ‘The Caine Mutiny’ Author Was 103 https://deadline.com/2019/05/herman-wouk-dead-the-winds-of-war-the-caine-mutiny-author-1202617206/?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter … macabre macabre
  9. Just for the fun of different POV to view the same situation MCU looks insane, or? (rhetorical) In comparison to the also insane winter openers and the other outlier that brighter line had more time then, made over $100m more after day 125. Green and dark violet the same world. Still insane, but less looking a a first glance, as 1. all are insane, 2. something is higher. In my POV all of those are impressive/insane, but times change in general to faster runs, CBM even more so I think. I think its possible we will get in a few to some years (or a decade +) a 'Chinese' situation. And in 20 years+.... shudder.
  10. or old 'gals' 😉 I think a lot here react too strong to the legs, with that OW it was clear we are in an uncharted situation. 16. Haha, same thoughts / POV...., see my post 2 minutes after yours I earnestly wondering why that is not absolute obvious for the some here that still question the legs
  17. In general that might count, but I think here play too many points into a sum of why it might not count in this special case: - never before we had that kind of cliffhanger / change of POV in a movie series. See heroes lost in IW - never before I've seen such an effort for secrecy, no spoilers, a frenzy of unseen heights to get even the smallest glimpse or not at all - the campaign was very much focused on that too - the simultaneous release in so many countries, but the US not getting it then too - part 22 with lots of 'final' / end / .... in interviews and advertising - the presale news got people moving earlier as usual (I mean per count, a lot more than usual) - news about cinemas opening in part 24hours... .... all adds up to push and push the 'event' feel into new heights I personally know lots of people who usually avoid OW for e.g. the fullness, loudness,.... and watch not even all usually CBMs, the most of them never watch a movie more than once in a cinema... = all of them (who do not outright refuse to watch any CBM) watched it till OW Sunday I think the % of people who are generally not re-watchers is way higher than usual for a CBM. I also think the % of people who do rewatch, did it atypical early, even if 3- or 4-times, e.g. accompanying friends.. to their first screening who usually wait longer. Plus the runtime.... plus its finals time in schools and... in combination with the run-time At the evenings its one screening less possible to still ~ reasonable hours, acc to lots of reports here and my own observations here. To sneak out of learning to watch it once shortly before the exams, not a problem To do it more than once with that runtime... I'v hear repeatedly my pupils say, if.... then, but no for now for an additional screening. I think the people still re-watching it are roughly the same as e.g. AIW re-watchers after a similar time in release, but less of the ones watching it usually only after the OW = the count of people, potential audience seems to be back to the usual CBM crowd = as such not the drops seem to be relevant in this special case, but the tickets sold / money made I didn't even list all reasons btw, its already a probably too long post 😉
  18. for the sake of the weekend prediction discussions / fast access to those: in the spoiler tags the two already released predictions BOPro https://www.boxofficepro.com/weekend-forecast-john-wick-chapter-three-parabellum-dog-journey-sun-also-star/ BOReport http://www.boxofficereport.com/predictions/predictions20190515.html Please be aware about they all release at different days / time of day, one of the reasons those vary. Last is usually BOM, usually during Thursday
  19. Maybe bcs someone edited my post? Another notebook, location, and browser = for the moment I can access font size - or it is generally solved. Great!
  20. why can I not change the size of the font in a post anymore? Recently it started to be not possible anymore in an edit, but in a new post? I'd prefer to be able to adjust a chart to the actual forum's template As I can also not see who is logged in anymore, whom to ask / ping / ??? for that kind of question?
