  1. Some obsessive online detectives have discovered that Catwoman has a pretty prominent place in the character line-up in the new DC/DCEU logo. Even more prominent than Harley, surprisingly. Kinda cool as Catwoman is a very iconic pop-culture figure, rivalling possibly Wondy herself. I think Geoff Johns will take a lot of care to ensure that Sirens is a quality movie as well. Could possibly rope in Jenkins to help Ayer too. There's assuming Ayer stays and doesn't choose to leave if he is picked for that Scarface remake. Uhh, I hope they don't fixate on his kinks too much. There was so much more to his life than that. It would be annoying when now that Wonder Woman is seeing success and recognition on a global level, this film suddenly raises a panic that the character is some "perverted leftist agenda" to brainwash little children. Stuff like that was why that silly conservative paranoia took hold of comics in the 1950's, curbing a lot of progressive stories and characters.
  2. Didn't Rogue One have even bigger reshoots much closer to release date? Anyways, 29.7M Sunday is just
  3. That twist when Batman and Superman are arguing over who should be JL leader and the rest of the team ends up voting for Wonder Woman instead Go for it Zack & Joss!
  4. For Twitter: There's a tiny down arrow at the upper right corner of the tweet. Click it, then click the "Embed this tweet" option. Copy the code and post it on "Source" mode (Source tab present in the upper left corner of your post).
  5. With these types it is always the inability to get laid or strike any kind of normal relationship with a woman (which, gee I wonder why) that they project onto EVERYTHING. This tweet is on point regarding top hat Doubting Tommy pictured above who wants to go to court over the existence of what is essentially ladies night
  6. In the sequel, Wonder Woman's villain should be The Fragile Man. Mr. Glass would be proud.
  7. Yeah but as Goffe said, the studio really pulled a number on that film. Also, the "no supervillains" part sounds really refreshing. The Demon Bear should ideally be like a cross between It and Pet Cemetary (plus its own weird mystical thing). The YA part may still be there as Boone mentioned "John Hughes meets Stephen King" again, and he explicitly mentioned the connection between the source material to his own adolescence. I think Fox has learned its lesson now after the floppage of Fant4stic and the success of Deadpool and Logan. Apocalypse flaws were down purely to Singer/Kinberg creative decisions, as opposed to studio meddling. They are rumored to be hiring an actor from the show, not being inspired by the show. And yeah, it looks like "genre entertainment" is more open to casting actresses of color (also see Zoe Saldanha).
  8. Looks like this will be the first "superhero teen horror" movie. Also, Rosario Dawson and 13 Reasons Why's Henry Zaga rumored for roles.
  9. Cersei standing in the middle of a giant ass map of Westeros and talking about killing enemies surrounding her on all directions. Such a BOSS
  10. But it worked so might as well milk that particular take on Flash A little context: There are different Flashes- two of the most famous are Barry Allen (the DCEU and tv show one) and Wally West (the one who from the 90's cartoons and played by Keiynan Lonsdale on the show). Traditionally Barry was more serious and grounded while Wally had the "wisecracking" Spidey personality. But the current tv show gave Wally's personality to Barry and seems like the DCEU is following suit. The fanboy purists were like "No you are mixing personalities!" But here's the thing- Barry is more prominent and has an interesting backstory and supporting cast like Iris West (Wally's aunt). So it makes sense that DC wants to use him but give him the more appealing personality of the two Flashes. Especially since it worked so well with the tv show (I don't personally watch the show but its popularity is undeniable).
  11. Also because WB/DC are pushing Flash to be their "Spider-Man" of sorts (youthful jokester, everyman type of character with more cutesy/kiddie appeal than other superheroes).
  12. But Aronofsky is hardly Nolan. Bashing him would register just a weak 3 out of 10 on the Edgy-O-Meter.
  13. The artist is James Jean, who has done stuff for DC and their Vertigo imprint (Fables in particular)
  14. The Mists of Avalon is more of my jam than the original Arthurian legends. Which, yeah shout out, coz it is one of the stronger early examples of deconstruction and subversion of established myths and themes. Have you read it or watched the early 00's mini-series adaptation? The latter is all kinds of cheesy but Angelica Huston.
  15. This story is 98% ham n cheese, 2% twist. I cannot wait
  16. Er... it is. After the success of Pirates and Alice, they were betting on his (then) star power to kickstart a new franchise. Also, whitewashing a lead/co-lead role with a big star steps on whatever other creative risks are being taken. Disney is not getting credit for TLR.
  17. In studio exec perspective, whitewashing falls (or fortunately now, used to fall) squarely in the middle of playing it safe.
  18. And it's not even Bollywood. It's a Tollywood (Telugu) film. Also, how awesome is it that there's a Sandalwood film industry?
