  1. Coz Wreck It Ralph 2 got pushed back to Thanksgiving 2018, leaving the March 9 date open. Hmm, I don't think it was getting "disposed of" when it had been slotted for its earlier date. Just that the February/March frame was crowded for Disney with Black Panther releasing at the end of February and WiR2 previously releasing in early March, so April was the only spot that allowed some breathing room for AWiT.
  2. I remembered Tangled fudge being only 199 to 200. Though as TDKoS said, BatB has a better chance of reaching 500M through double features and dollar theatre runs.
  3. As long as there is at least one Adele Dazeem power belter that generates YouTube covers from everyone and their grandmom.
  4. Old news. And why would people in Japan care that much when it is Japanese-American actors who are the ones suffering? Also, THR interviewed four Japanese descent actresses working in Hollywood on the subject and they straight up said some Japanese people are obsessed with white people coz they are self-loathing and hence prone to suicide. Savage much?
  5. It's about supporting her less financially fortunate peers lol. Unless she is not a member at all. It would still be kinda tasteless and further distance her from WGA but she is one of the only people who can risk getting into their bad books.
  6. I assumed they are into a couple of initial drafts by now, but let's see. With the way things have been going with this project, I wouldn't be surprised if Reynolds is willing to take even more creative control if he so desires.
  7. Rowling is not part of WGA? Also, I guess Aquaman will indeed be the only DCEU film in 2018 now. Damn, the last strike killed George Miller's Justice League Mortal too.
  8. New Mutants final draft is ready I think. Deadpool 2 may have a lot of improvisation from Reynolds and co. so it will probably make its date too. Don't see Dark Phoenix making its 2018 date unless Kinberg gets to direct and write. But I assume WGA would not be cool with him writing even if he gets the director's job?
  9. They've got pretty fun powers. It may get toned down a bit, especially Magik's, but they would still be cool. Magik Dani Moonstar Wolfsbane Cannonball Sunspot
  10. We'll see. Boone is good at doing teen drama and this has the 500 Days of Summer/Fault in Our Stars writing team so it has potential to buck the norms of standard superhero fare. Especially considering they are going for a teen horror-esque tone for this that hasn't been done before. Apparently this was one of Marvel's highest selling books in the 80's and was so popular at the time that it partly inspired the creation of TMNT (the "Teenage Mutant" part at least ). It's a junior team of students studying at Xavier's ("New" as in "Younger") who haven't been graduated to X-Men level yet but have their own side adventures without adult supervision, usually. The stories also tended to have more horror elements and did a much better job at depicting the coming of age experience than regular X-Men comics.
  11. You said it wasn't "bringing much to the table" and I just pointed out it does through a new dynamic for the genre. And Homecoming does not have shades of Stephen King as far as I know, unless marketing lies and Tony Stark ends up chopping down a door to terrorize Aunt May and Peter.
  12. It's going to be the first superhero film with a female heavy team. And the tone is described as "John Hughes meets Stephen King".
  13. There couldn't be a head and facial expression more specifically designed to become a legendary BOT emoji
  14. Lol it made 12.8M over the weekend in Brazil. So they are saying it made 36.2M over Mon-Thur?
  15. S7 images, including one of breakout supastah Lady Lyanna Mormont: https://www.rottentomatoes.com/tv/game_of_thrones/s07/pictures
  16. Now this is a story all about howMy life got flipped-turned upside downAnd I'd like to take a minuteJust sit right thereI'll tell you how I became the prince of a town called Ababwa
  17. Apocalypse is a slightly different case because it was a critical disappointment after DoFP/Deadpool. And as the embargo had been lifted at the beginning of the month, the rotten score was present for all to see for weeks leading up to the release, in turn deflating audience anticipation.
  18. SW original trilogy was never theatrically released in China during its initial run so the franchise isn't that big a deal there. Also see Rogue One meh numbers.
  19. Fast & Furious 6 average rating is just 6.2 and it is fresh. Most folks just need to give this a fresh and if the average score stays around 6, it will be alright
  20. Zilch, even without the defence of big studio lawyer armies. The Warrens' stories aren't copyrightable IP's or even personal "real life stories" to which someone can buy sole rights for reproduction, but retellings of "historical events" that they happened to be involved in (highly embellished historical events but "historical" enough in this context). I don't know how the author can argue that he was duped by the Warrens into believing their recollections of events to be legit but then still considered them fictional enough to be copyrighted.
  21. That moment when you return from a weekend getaway and see that things played out exactly the way you hoped they would
  22. A movie that expects itself to be Oscah season bait but in reality is just summer season fodder.
