Outstanding for Deadpool, i don't think Fox forced 3D on audiences either

Math isn't a strong suit for Deadline. It's a 5.8% drop for 3 day and 30% increase over 4 day. Strong late legs continue for SW7. Should hit high 930s with a shot at 940M+.
if 940m happens, I hope Disney pushes it into top 10 adjusted

3RD UPDATE, 11:15PM: As much as distributors would love to blame Super Bowl for the sluggish weekend, it’s really about the lackluster offerings with two of the three entries — Lionsgate’s The Choice and Screen Gems’ Pride and Prejudice and Zombies — charting well below their estimates respectively with $5.5M and $5.2M and Universal’s Hail, Caesar! getting lambasted by audiences with both a C- CinemaScore and a lowly 66% ComScore PostTrak. Super Bowl weekend has shown that even the most male-heavy of titles such as American Sniper last year ($30.7M) and 2009’s Taken ($24.7M opening) can appeal to a wide audience. It doesn’t always have to be about counter-programming with under 25 and female flicks. What’s also slowing down this weekend’s turnstiles is that the masses are saving their money to blow at the B.O. next weekend when it’s a double whammy with Valentine’s Day and the Presidents’ Day four-day holiday. That’s when 20th Century Fox will unleash its R-rated superhero Deadpool which is quite hot in tracking.

some highlights
$11.3M and an opening weekend of $41M for Panda
The Revenant stays strong with an industry estimated $3.27M Friday and sixth weekend of $11.6M
Disney’s The Finest Hours is looking to open with $10.5M weekend in third at 3,143 venues after a $3.5M Friday
Disney also owns the No. 4 film, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which is still looking at a double digit weekend with an estimated $10.3M
Open Road/IM Global’s Fifty Shades of Black is more like Fifty Shade of Red with the film coming in far below its $9M-$10M projection for a $6.3M weekend at 2,075 theaters.

This realistically need to start filming by late Spring 2016 to meet release date, even that would be a small post production window for a heavy cgi film
