They should release DP marketing for every comic book movie / R rated movie DP surpasses in the box office. Have DP be in them and have him do some quip specifically geared towards that particular movie.

I think DP will end up being the highest grossing superhero origin movie of all time DOM and WW.

Just came back from seeing DP and I gotta admit it was a really fun movie but I can't help but wonder how sustainable would a DP franchise be with this type of humor involved.

NO we aren't talking about a world where R rated movies are PG13, just for this given movie alone. In other words this movie was released as PG13 but remaining in tact in this world.

Just being hypothetical for this given movie. If DP makes 140M OW with an R rating which means it limits the audience who sees the movie, then if it gets a PG13 rating, the movie remains exactly the same it is nothing changes about the movie whatsoever only the PG13 rating then it automatically becomes accessible to a larger audience and that 140M OW can possibly be alot higher.

Yea I know that about the rating if it is PG13 the movie won't have alot of the R rated stuff it has but like I said just pretend that it has a PG13 rating, surely that means it would make alot more because more people have access to see it?

Lets pretend instead of it having an R rating it has a PG13 rating instead. The movie remains the same way it is, nothing changes but the rating alone. This would mean the movie can be viewed by a larger audience automatically.

I shudder to think what the box office would be for DP if it was PG13. Yes I know the R rating made it work but lets just imagine this being PG13 with the movie being the same way it is. How much OW would we be looking at here? 200M?

I don't think any movie this year will have an unexpected breakout like DP just did, this is a once in a year type thing, heck a once in a few years type thing. Need to monitor SS closely but I doubt it comes any where near this.

Yea DP's success can be attributed to the unique concept of a comic book character covered by wonderful and engaging marketing material. I think this is one of the reasons that Suicide Squad did so well in number of views for its trailers on youtube eclipsing BvS's trailers and even matching or exceeding AOU and JW trailers. SS might see similar success if they push the marketing out for it similar to how DP has done but DP's marketing was more in your face breaking the 4th wall schtick which is in itself pretty damn unique and connected hugely with the audience in that way.

48M OD for DP very good and the most shocking OD for any movie IMO. Congrats to Reynolds I heard he said a few interviews back that this would be his last comic book role ever, glad he is going out with a bang and hopefully now he sticks with this character. I think DP's OW has a real possibility of actually coming close to or exceeding BvS's OW. WOW.

Add in unique concept to the SH genre as well. The marketing for this pretty much played it off as an R rated parody of all SH movie tropes.

Don't forget Fantastic Four done right, Galactus and his Heralds done right and Nova Corps done right. All can eclipse SW at the box office.
