It was decent. Nothing special. It deserves more than 9% on RT, IMO.

Watch the Firm with Tom Cruise.  This movie follows that blueprint to a T, except it's not as good or well executed.  Affleck is really good in it though,

I do agree with baumer that Affleck is by far the best thing this has going for it.

I really think the writer's just took the script for The Firm and changed the setting.  Here is the plot for the Firm:

 

Young, very smart lawyer gets seduced by rich and nefarious law firm

They pay off his student loans and offer him an insane amount of money to work for them

They record Cruise having an affair with a woman so that they can keep him loyal to them.

His brother is a bit of a secret as he is in prison

The FBI wants him to work with them and tells him his life is over 

He has to figure out a way to get out of the mess, including getting his dad out of trouble.

He solves it all and gets the girl at the end.

 

This is basically Runner Runner but with a few things changed.

Agree Affleck is the best part of it. This movie is just so uninteresting. 2/5
