I think this will be big in both Europe and Asia. Dante's Peak and Volcano are not fair comparisons imo. They are 17 years old films and in those movies a volcano happens in the "current" world. Pompeii could be bigger os than domestic special effecty bombs like John Carter, Prince of Persia and Battleship. I am thinking 250m unless it's a horrible film.

You are right but those two are the only movies about volcanos I remember ;-) I like the trailer. I want to see it on 3D. But I have to wait until April here in Spain

Pompeii opens WW with an estimate of $32.8 M. OS $22.8 M easily doubled its Domestic opening. It leads important markets like Russia and South Korea.
