2015 average is $13.61 (2014 13.68), example on rating a G rated film average is $11.44 and MA $13.82

Lot of things effect ticket average  , on top of above being some example of top adult price and  forgetting price Student/child/3D etc there is also a lot of discount prices like of the cuff you might walk into an Event site and say pay $25 for Vmax but if you did your homework beforehand  through either Movie Money, Optus/Telstra Rewards, Entertainment book vouchers just to name a few that $25 ticket you could have gotten  for $16-18

The Sydney Imax top price $35 but average ticket price there is usually in $22-25 range

Wow, I was expecting an increase. That puts last years admissions at just over 90m.

Wow. Average went down. First time since 1993 I believe average price has gone down.

1 question on the top price though. I'm guessing gold class tickets ($40) aren't included for the top price?

2nd question for 3D films does the average tend be higher. For example Star Wars admissions?

Any idea on how it compared to avatar.

So The Jungle Book had better OW than ZOO. That sounds promising [emoji4]

Edit: or is $3.44million in Australian currency?

Unless specified it's always Aussie Dollars here.  AUD3.44m for TJB.

Given the different opening patterns you would still have to say that TJB has had a better opening weekend.

@Rth could give an indication of TJB vs Zootopia in QLD, VIC and TAS.

It's not the first time that a number wasn't reported. It's the way Disney work. The actual release date in AUS is this Thursday coming. Qld/Vic only got jungle book early due to the timing of the school holidays in those states. If u consider the bulk of the country gets TJB this weekend coming. I'm thinking at least 6m ow ATM.

Also could BVS go sub 1m on its 4th weekend?  If it does then 30m will be quite shakey. I think it will still make it but 4m seems a long way at this point. Even with holidays. Don't forget it not only faces TJB but allegiant opens this weekend though I'm now doubting an opening above 3m with TJB possibly breaking out.

AUD mate. But not apples for apples.

Zootopia made 4.3m in 100% of the market.

TJB only opened in around 30% of the market (2 states) and did 3.4m. Rest of the country open TJB in line with the USA this coming weekend.

So they'll combine the two weekends into one, even though in Vic for instance it'll be the OW and the 2nd weekend?

No it will just be in the cume, the weekend figure will just be Thu-sun, this weeks end of week report will show the JB figure

That makes a bit more sense.  I just don't think we've seen it on this scale before where the "previews" actually won the weekend but aren't listed for that weekend.  Ted was close but the previews were listed.

Yeah pretty much.

JB WE more than 3.4, over 3.7 the week will be over 4.5 (on par with Zoo)

So if JB had been national its OW probably have been around 7m and around 8.5m mark for week

Zootopia should clear AUD26-27m to get over USD20m.

They included TJB for the week but not the weekend.

So everyone understands why the weekdays for TJB seemed to drop off badly in comparison to other films. Qld/Vic holidays have ended. School is back in there. While the rest of country only started the holidays.

Plus it also wasn't boosted by advanced screenings in the other states.
