Pretty great and well-paced for its first 150 minutes, too bad it goes on for another 45 after that. The final big argument between the main character and his wife - the emotional climax and highpoint of the film - is immediately followed by a sequence that's unnecessary, wildly contrived (the moment with the money is just ridiculous) and just feels tonally off. (It's like if Dostoevsky tried to finish writing a Chekhov drama for him). Then the movie pretty much limps to its final scene.

A very admirable character study that ultimately confuses length with depth. Great performances and cinematography though.

Can't remember much from the first hour, but I really liked all of the super long talky scenes. Ismail burning the money was dumb.Overall, I think the movie didn't need to be that long, but fantastic performances and incisive direction really brings it to the worth a watch camp. Better than the ultra boring Once Upon a Time in Anatolia. 70/100
