Well, The Color Purple has pretty good reviews. This shows good reviews wouldn't necessarily help to get good legs.

I suspect this will do fine. Skimming the reviews so far, the consensus seems to be that it’s an uninspired, paint-by-numbers biopic overall, but Ben-Adir is getting praised for his performance and the music is, natch, great. And really that’s why most people are going to this to see (and hear): the big hits. they're going for Jammin and Redemption Song, not some deep insight into Marley.

Paramount+ has it already, I don't know how much it'll do. It would have been really funny if they'd debuted it theaters on 4/20. It's a Saturday so I know that's not how the release schedule works, but it would have gotten great publicity.
