Around 15% increase.Great :)In 2013 Russia should reach $1.5B easily.I guess you don't have numbers for total admissions? It's probably around 185m
Fullbuster
This year Russia could pass France in admissions and become the number one European market in admissions.
juni78ukr
Don't think so. Despite 14-15% increase in box office gross admissions increased just by 2-3%.Last day of holidays. Both Hobbit and Pi dropped by 25-26%. So around 1.8m for Pi and 1m or slightly less for Hobbit.

juni78ukr
In past years 60-70% drops after long holidays were common. So 30m is not very likely. 27-28m though mught be possible. Also Anna Karenina grossed slightly more than $2m in previews. Movie 43 also doing pretty good. Should have at least $5-6m total.

Fullbuster
27-28m is fantastic. I expected $13m, I'm rarely on the pessimistic side when we talk about the Russian BO but this time it's the case Edited January 9, 2013 by Hunter X Fullbuster
Fullbuster
Only +2-3% in admissions??? That means around 180m admissions, and that means a major part of the Russian BO's growth comes from the increase of ticket prices

That means around 180m admissions, and that means a major part of the Russian BO's growth comes from the increase of ticket prices We already discussed that. So far average ticket price for Hobbit is $9.43, for Pi $10.26 That's too high for many people here.

That's terrible. Did you notice a sensitive increase in prices in 2013? Because prices can't increase so fast eternally. They're very far from prices in Japan or Chinese big cities! juni78ukr
I remember here in Ukraine in 2007 I went to an early show for 8 UAH. That was $1.6. So the prices are really increasing very fast. And some very bright heads in movie buisiness believe they should increase them even more.

Wow, indeed it's huge Maybe Moscow residents can afford such prices? Salaries are much higher than the rest of Russia there...
