Fullbuster
Since the film is located in Russia, there should be a demand for this. At least I hope so... I didn't know it's located in Russia, sothe potential should be good
Fullbuster
So Les Miserables flopped, as expected. I expected $8m for it, certainly too optimistic.

It still has the best per screen average among all releases. However many people were disappointed. Too long and boring they say.

juni78ukr
A lot of negative reviews for Die Hard 5. Average grade on Kinopoisk is 5.8 and that is really bad for the opening day.

Only a handful of theaters reported by now. Too few to make any projections. Nothing exciting with midweek grosses Chinese Zodiac 202k+200k+195k Parker 180k+172k+158k Les Miserables 142k+149k+142k Bullet to The Head 101k+99k+89k
juni78ukr
Strong opening day for Die Hard 5. May finish with $1.5 mln Thursday. Probably around 230k Thursday for The Impossible.

juni78ukr
Thursday looks at least a bit inflated thanks to Valentine's day. Friday increases should be much lower or some movies can drop at all. Holdovers also did not drop much compared to last week. Less than 30% drop for Les Miserables from last Thursday for example. That's true, BO increased on Valentine's day in almost every country, I Shouldn't consider this Thursday as usual one. So the Thursday's BO for all major movie has already come out? juni78ukr
Beautiful Creatures, Safe Heaven and 360 released through independent distributors. For their numbers usually we have to wait till 19-20 p.m on Thursday and Monday. Only one theater chain (30-40 theaters) is completely covered on Rentrak and that's not enough to make reliable estimates and projections. You can say that Beautiful Creatures is doing much better than Safe Heaven but that's all about it. Numbers for our main distributors are constantly updated on Rentrak. With some experience you can get good estimates early with 1/3 or 1/4 theaters reported. At the moment 539 theaters out of 845 reported for Die Hard 5 with 1.06m gross. juni78ukr
I suppose Die hard would get more than 1.6m this Thursdays, since there are still 1/3 theatres didn't report BO yet. Usually the most popular and busy theaters report first so per theater average gradually drops during the day. Looks like I went too high for The Impossible. Most likely it's doing much worse in regions than in big cities.
