Cosmonaut
My "At Least" Forecast #8 for total gross, December 26: Name; Copies; Total gross $; Christmas trees 3; ~1700; 26m Ivan Tsarevich and the Gray Wolf 2; ~1600; 24m *Local. **There is also a bunch of other movies, but their results not worth mentioning at all(less than 0.5m). I don't think there is enough Bieber fans for his new movie to make it to the 0.5m, probably 0.2m, that's enough. Openers Tuesday(ekinobilet): 1) Hobbit: DOS - $1,25m+ 2) Walking with Dinosaurs 3D - $90k+ $415k+ for Frozen, $8k+ for CF. It's nearly two weeks till Christmas here) Plus New Year(Jan. 1) is much more popular Holiday here.
Leyla
yeay imo the title should be changed to the NY themed one Whats your prediction for the other 2 comedies that start from Jan 1????

Cosmonaut
Whats your prediction for the other 2 comedies that start from Jan 1???? You mean 3 other comedies?)) It's hard to say, even this prediction is out of the blue, mostly; i don't agree with kinometro's forecast, they predicted ~20m for "Trees" and ~25m for "Wolf", but since they were off with Hobbit weekend prediction by almost 2 mln, it's not really an indicator)) But i think something like this: Love in the big city 3 - 12m+ Friends of friends - 6m+ Faster than rabbits - 3m+

I clearly can see the difference between a French and a Saudi, between a Japanese and an Indian..And I don't think about race but about culture. An Asian from the USA is clearly different a Chinese or a Vietnamese. You exaggerate.

phaeton77
Today in my town cinema multiplex started showing three new movies: "Yolki 3", "Love in the big city 3" and "Ivan Tsarevich i Seryy Volk 2". From "Frozen" was taken all big screens and almost half of shows... it had only one week. Edited December 25, 2013 by phaeton77
juni78ukr
Well, it was released a week later in Ukraine. So only one week indeed.
Cosmonaut
Well, "Trees" gonna have much better weekdays than "Gray Wolf", that's for sure. Hobbit is very lucky with IMAX in this time period, there are no big-medium screens for it since Jan.1-2, without IMAX total earnings would be like 10% less, at least.. Kinometro forecast for this weekend: http://www.kinometro.ru/forecast/show/name/seryi_volk_protiv_elok They are doubting their own prediction? 8,5m OW for "Trees" and 4,2m OW for "Gray Wolf". 5,8m for Hobbit would be a decent hold.

It's because hamburgers are so tasty well ofc I'd be lying if I say I dont eat them but its a guilty pleasure btw lol I was reading a newspaper about some tvshows on NY's night & the journo wrote 'Hopefully our children & grandchildren many many years into the future will still be eating a traditional NY salad & not hamburgers' I was like 'Appropriate! she reads my mind' & this article is mind boggling http://themovieblog.com/2007/economics-of-the-movie-theater-where-the-money-goes-and-why-it-costs-us-so-much/ wtf is that! That would mean less gross for Trees(/other comedies)... imo in that period all those movies will be able to cash on in the holidays It would have been better if TABA is released later than its actual release date next year It will lose too many screens before the holidays sadly just like DoS Edited December 26, 2013 by Tauriel
