Brazilian market collapse ??? Please correct this, do not make me ashamed!

Just yesterday the title of this topic read: Maze Runner 2 overcomes first film by 98% in local currency. And today the market is already collapsing? Hard to understand!

What happens is that the exchange rate is the worst in history, but people are still going to the movies, including a significant increase each year, based by the own Maze Runner, 98% is almost double.

An interesting article :

Mexico is Latin America's success story as Brazil stumbles Latin America's power rankings are shifting this year and Mexico is emerging as a winner.

The Mexican economy isn't surging, but it's surviving -- and that's a success in a year of tough economic times for the region.

Low commodity prices, plunging currencies and a stock market sell off across emerging markets have hit Latin America particularly hard this year.

But Mexico's economy is growing, unemployment is falling and its debt was upgraded earlier this year.

Things clearly changed, and while both country had almost the same size in terms of movie market Mexico seems to be jumping ahead by a wide margin. In the next two years Mexico will be star among Hollywood executives while Colombia should gain some foothold.

There is no collapse in local currency but the global comparisons are made in USD so from that we can say Brazil is losing market shares on the global movie market compared with other countries, and that's very important because around 90% of the Brazilian market is dominated by Hollywood movies.
