Brazil once again overperformed 1

Fullbuster
The advantage of Black Panther is that there is no real competition until Ready Player One, it's really helpful. PS: Han Solo will release on May 24 in Brazil, I expect it to be a bomb...The Avengers 3 will still be strong at that time.

I could be wrong though, it's not entirely predictable.
Fullbuster
Wow, it's rare enough to be noted: LucasFilm revealed Han Solo new posters and the first ones unveiled are the Brazilian ones:

Sadly I do not think TB will be big in Latin America
Fullbuster
@ronisssantos Not 100% sure but from what I saw there's no videogame adaptation that crossed $10m in Brazil, it's really a niche market. Fullbuster
So Tomb Raider got almost 600 screens this weekend, it's clear it's not seen as a big potential there given it's twice less than the biggest movies.

My $3.5-4m OW prediction for Tomb Raider could be too optimistic given the relatively small number of screens (for such a product) and the poor ratings...you're warned... $2.5-3m seems more realistic now that we know that. HouseOfTheSun
Any word on hype for IW? Can it break the overall set of records in Brazil?

Yes, it can...at least in local currency. Don't know the hype there given I don't live there....but it's fair to say it's too early for that. Now think about that: Guardians of the Galaxy 2 clearly beat the 1st one last year, Thor 3 clearly beat Thor 2, Spider-Man Homecoming is the 1st Spidey to reach R$100m, Black Panther will become the highest-grossing solo comicbook movie next week.... The trend is clearly in favor of Avengers 3! 1
