Doctor Strange sold 452,000 tickets on OD Wednesday. Including Thursday is now at 611,000 total and R$10,2M in local currency.

Thanks Napo :D

That means around $3.3m in 2 weekdays, that's good :) We'll have our first movie beyond $5m OW. Finally a great start, the Brazilian market needed this :D

Maybe you're right and DC isn't bad rated in general :)

I'm certain there is no bias against DC, WB just needs to give us good movies, not flawed ones because yes : BvS and Suicide Squad were not what most of us expected for.

I'm confident Wonder Woman will be great, I really want it to be great.

Doctor Strange $8M in Brazil:

I wanted it to reach $10m but I can't complain, it's better than Dory's OW and much better than Pets even if you take into account it's a 5-day OW.

Strange will pass Guardians of the Galaxy despite an exchange rate that is way worse than in 2014.

If $8m is correct, this is almost R$26m in Real.

Comparison (in Real):

Guardians of the Galaxy - R$11.2m

Ant-Man - R$11.8m

Even Deadpool opened with R$25.1m

That's true, in local currency that's a really good start for an origin story :)

On Thursday : Jack Reacher 2, Doctor Strange should hold well and could even retain its top spot.

On November 17 : Fantastic Beasts

I expect JR2 to bomb, as for FB it's more difficult to predict but an OW around $6-9m seems very likely.

You should watch it, really. The visuals are absolutely stunning.

By the way, will you watch Fantastic Beasts?

Yes but I'll wait for the 2nd week because Harry Potter movies have a bad reputation for the fans being too loud and messy on opening weekends.

I was mad they cast Johnny Depp, but it's JK Rowling writing the scripts, I'm sure it will be good and she deserves the success.
