Ive heard the toy story franchise is a pretty big deal in mexico

Are they also changing the voice actor for buzz for lightyear

Ive head the original buzz's dubbed latam voice, its great, wll changing it have a big effect in the box office?

Great question. Apparently they're indeed changing it but the new voice is from the same actor who usually dubs Chris Evans (and Ryan Reynolds) who is well-known and respected so I don't think there'll be much of a negative effect.

Quick notes

  • Decent start for Morbius. Shall be around $110M+ for the 5-Day which is on par with Eternals 4-Day opening.
  • Secrets of Dumbledore release is been messy but is clear: opens on the 14th with previews starting at 7:00 PM on the 13th. Fanbase rush is astonishing; on par with Star Wars rush and with great sales in several locations after only a few hours of sales. Theatres around me filling up pretty quickly for Wed previews which is a best for pandemic times aside from No Way Home and The Batman.
  • Jujutsu Kaisen 0 holding screens but losing half of shows. Mugen Train fell around 60% during its second weekend. Let's see how this one goes.

Really bad sign for Morbius legs. Not even inflation could put 5-Day above F4ntastic or Dark Phoenix 3-Day respective openings. Just ok

Multiverse of Madness got confirmation of tickets going on sale this Wednesday so surely by Tuesday night we'll get them. It's also confirmed to open on the 5th with 7PM previews on the 4th. Seeing showtimes popping up with a nice run from 7PM to 11PM in several locations. Thinking all 4-Day + Previews should come above $350M

5 37 Suicide Squad 05/08/2016 $514,745,207 9,938,506

It had a sizeable drop this weekend, Aquaman is toast but the Dawn of Justice may be spared, specially with Sonic 2 around the corner.

In 12 hours or so sales for Multiverse of Madness should start. Not expecting No Way Home/Endgame levels of craziness but should get a truly great boost from its first installment.

Adjusted openings:

  • Iron Man 3 (3-Day) - $285M
  • Captain America: Civil War (3-Day) - $485M
  • Avengers: Age of Ultron (4-Day) - $540M

Tickets started to pop up around 23:30 and now (00:05) Cinépolis is lagging. Web is lagging and app is completely down for some.

God I love the smell of ticketing crashes in the morning.

4day here right? 500M?

Yeah, it's looking to challenge Age of Ultron.

I'm just going to bed. I hasn't seen anything completely crashed but queues are preeeety long in all websites and apps.

All issues solved quickly during the first couple of hours of sales but strong sales all around specially for IMAX and VIP shows. Going well ahead of The Batman's first day of sales.

Two things to notice: This is the first big release (think $100M+ opener) to open without capacity restrictions in most of the country. Number two is that is getting 3D shows at some locations but they're quite limited to a couple of them per theatre.
