Carlangonz
SEPTEMBER 29-OCTOBER 1 WEEKEND. KINGSMAN WINS THE WEEKEND AS PENNYWISE STRUGGLES TO REACH $500M Kingsman: The Golden Circle - 62% higher than 'The Secret Service' - $100M is a lock, its only competition is Blade Runner 2049 next weekend It - Decent drop, but $500M looks practically dead. Earthquake destroyed its legs - 10M admissions still in game, would be the first rated B-15 and the first horror movie to do that. Me Gusta pero me Asusta - Playing so much better than the average local films (whose 2nd weekend drop is usually 30%-35%) - $100M is a possibility if keeps playing like that Universal VS Cinépolis This weekend, Cinépolis didn't support another Universal distributed film; Lego Ninjago, which barely made $8M, so much less than The Lego Adventure ($50.69M) and Lego Batman ($50.6M). The other Universal's title that wasn't released by the biggest mexican chain was American Made, that is saying "goodbye" to the Top 10 with barely $20.3M # MOVIE WEEKEND % CHANGE TOTAL (MXN) TOTAL (USD) ADM. TOTAL ADM. 1 Kingsman: The Golden Circle $41,31 $41,31 $2,40 790K 790K 2 It $35,58 -52,71% $440,2 $24,23 750K 9,28 3 Me Gusta pero me Asusta $21,06 -21,97% $64,43 $3,53 759,9K 1,51 4 Lego Ninjago $8,87 $8,87 $487K 201,7K 201,7 5 Happy Family $7,38 -0,27% $40,32 $2,22 168,7K 970K 6 mother! $6,91 -46,30% $27,45 $1,50 124,2K 540K 7 Wind River $4,46 $4,46 $245K 72,2K 72,2K 8 Isla Calaca $2,01 -41,56% $16,12 $892K 47,4K 407,2K 9 Attraction $1,96 -46,88% $7,92 $435K 42,6K 187,9K 10 American Made $1,6 -65,29% $20,33 $1,10 31,5K 443,8K SECOND THOUGHTS - Lego Ninjago is a WB's film, however, in Mexico Warner doesn't operate as distributor from a few years ago, so most of their movies are distributed by Universal. Now, the fact that Cinepolis didn't exhibit this movie or American Made did affect seriously both films, because despite that they have a similar number of screens (3,239 Cinepolis VS 2,705 Cinemex), Cinépolis grosses even 3 times more than Cinemex, plus, IMAX screens are Cinépolis' exclusive, Junior Theatres are their invention and they have mnuch more 4D screens. - The failure of the Uni-Cinépolis distribution deal of Ninjago couldn't make happier to Disney. Coco opens on October 27th and with no wide animation since The Emoji Movie back in august, it will surely do tons of money.
Carlangonz
Wow! Disney is really betting a lot on Coco, they just announced the cast for the dubbed version and all i can say is that now this movie has more reasons to connect with mexican audiences and succeed, at least here.

Theoretically, Justice League should gross more than the other 2 and reach 700M lc. But several recent, big movies had not reached their expectations because of the awful leg syndrome, so WB should be happy with 600M lc. I think the Jedi will end up outhulking the competition; the Wars should be able to go north of 400M lc, but I can't see Thor3 doing as good as SHC.
Purple Minion
Weekend estimates (Screendaily): Blade Runer 2049 had a $1.6M OW. Again, sci-fi not a big draw here. The Mountain Between Us opened to $1.1M, 42% bigger than The Impossible My Little Pony had a disappointing $0.53M OW, proving that animation nostalgia not always works. IT now up to $26.5M, with a $1.5M weekend... wonder how close it was to BR2049? Lego Ninjago reached $1.2M, the fallout with Cinepolis really hurt. mother! total is $1.9M. 2

The movie is like in a Furious 7 status (4 weeks free of competion and an amazing release date). 3 hours ago, Purple Minion said: Jedi will end up outhulking the competition; the Wars should be able to go north of 400M lc Don't think TLJ has a bigger OW than TFA and definitely no better legs, it faces Ferdinand, Jumanji (the original is huge in here so we'll see how nostalgia plays) and The Greatest Showman. Star Wars is weak outside of CDMX. 3 hours ago, Purple Minion said: can't see Thor3 doing as good as SHC. Hype is strong with Ragnarok, some polls made by Cinemex and Cinépolis put it over Justice League in terms of anticipation. All depends on how it holds facing Coco, HDD, Jigsaw and JL. Mockingjay Raphael
Flatliners opened quite well in Mexico at $1.1m. It makes me even more curious about HDD’s potential, after watching the movie, I’m sure it will break-out here, plus, it’s exploding in Brazil as well.
