Carlangonz
According to Deadline, Annabelle: Creation repeated as No. 1 this weekend, just a 49% dip from last session for $240M lc ($13.3M total). Don't think Atomic Blonde hurts it, neither upcoming local films. After that is free until Sep 14 when IT is released. @Mockingjay Raphael Should finish between $320-$330M lc, around $17.5-$18M USD. 1
Carlangonz
AUGUST 25-27 WEEKEND. ANNABELLE REPEATS AND DARK TOWER FLOPS. With the best ER in over a year, the new releases didn't connect with audience and the scary doll repeated as No. 1 this weekend. Annabelle: Creation - Running 10% ahead of Annabelle at the same point of the cycle. By friday surpasses that one and the first Conjuring. - 20% behind The Conjuring 2. - Should join Top 10 of 2017 in two weeks The Dark Tower - Opened in a similar number of screens as Dunkirk, Valerian and Baby Driver but a poor marketing left it $10M behind those three - Similar OW as Jupiter Ascending, should finish around $50M - No, this doesn't affect It at all The Hitman's Bodyguard - Decent OW, its only competition are upcoming local films Hazlo como Hombre - 9th highest grossing local movie of all time above Little Boy and under Crimen del Padre Amaro, in the coming days will be No. 6 - 50/50 chances of joining Top 5 - In admissions is No. 12 A Clockwork Orange - Limited re-release exclusive of Cinépolis. This is the third re-release of a Kubrick film after Barry Lyndon and Full Metal Jacket, next week is Eyes Wide Shut. # MOVIE WEEKEND % CHANGE TOTAL (MXN) TOTAL (USD) ADM. Great, so, it's going to finish above A1 & TC1, and around only 5%-10% behind TC2? Great retention considering how big TC2 was in Mexico. The potential is gigantic for both IT and The Nun next year. More like 15% behind TC2, but yeah, it's proving the potential of the saga and genre. WoM with this one is positive so people aren't tired of the franchise and Nun shouldn't be worried. Carlangonz
I've noticed that this recent weekend was the lowest weekend of the year and probably the next couple of weeks will be even lower. It and Ninjago will be very benefited of this.

Carlangonz
SEPTEMBER 1-3 WEEKEND. LOWEST WEEKEND OF THE YEAR (AGAIN) This weekend was the weakest weekend of the year, just after last weekend was the weakest, that trend seems that will be applied next weekend. That allowed Annabelle: Creation to be #1 for thrid weekend in a row, now it is tied with How to be a Latin Lower as the movies with most weekends at #1 in the year. Atomic Blonde started at #2, should pass $50M by the time its closest competition: American Made, arrives on Sep 15th. Hazlo como Hombre had a very good drop and is almost sure that will end as 5th highest local grosser of all-time. # MOVIE WEEKEND % CHANGE TOTAL (MXN) TOTAL (USD) ADM. Carlangonz
PS for It still going pretty well, in the big cities is outselling GOTG 2 ($8.1M OW) and WW ($8.2M OW), is slightly under SM:HC ($9.3 OW). Forum Buenavista (3rd highest grosser of the country) has 8 out of 16 auditorioums booked for midnight screenings, including IMAX and 4DX, both of them are sold-out. I'm sticking with $9M-$9.5M 4-Day OW.

ANNABELLE HOLDS AT NO. 1 FOR 4TH (AND LAST) WEEKEND IN A ROW As predicted, we saw a new lowest weekend in 2017, with strong releases coming we expect don't have anything similar for the rest of the year.
