I don't know what movie Andrew is talking about but that title, "Make You Care..." reminds me of some other movie... but I can't remember the title of that one. *audience laughs* Anyway, last year, this was the greatest night of my life. Let's see if I can pay it forward. Here are the nominees for Best Supporting Actress. Jessie Buckley, The Queen Who Never Was Cut to Saera sitting in a plain room, not a prisoner, but not free. Her parents enter and Jaehaerys simply asks “what have you done? By the gods, what have you done?” Saera replies “I did what, if a man did, he would be congratulated for in private by his fellow lords. My husband injured my honor every day, so I preserved what little dignity I had by choosing men who were not ashamed of my company.” Alysanne remains silent as Jaehaerys gets incensed for the harms that have stemmed from her actions. “You could have endured it all as a proper lady should, but instead your husband and your sister lie dead, and more death will follow.” Saera simply responds “Viserra I regret with all my heart, and I would change it if I could. As for my husband, you forced me to marry him, knowing he had no care for me. His blood is on your hands as well.” Jaehaerys for a second looks like he might hit Saera, but Alysanne puts a hand on his arm. Instead, he simply says “you are not my daughter” and walks out of the room. Alysanne exchanges a look with Saera, with slight empathy, and then follows her husband out. Kirsten Dunst, The Next Good Day Levi: Seven. Delaney: Jesus… (hisses) then what happened to your hands? Levi: The break healed just fine. It was… later on. Focal dysphonia. Makes us twitch, cramp up. It cost a lot of pianists their careers. Delaney: So you quit playing? Levi: (furious) I never quit! Delaney is shocked, but then lets out a small laugh, covering her mouth as to not look rude. Levi is confused. Levi: What? Delaney: (laughing) You just said “I”. Levi: No, we… Delaney: You did! You totally just said "I"! Eva Green, The Mirage Old Ruth: I’ve known you for a long, long time, Ralph. I’ve seen you in all these ages, wearing all these skins and creeds, and suits and gowns and—Ralph: Can it. The only me you’ve seen is the ‘me’ sitting here. That’s a fact.Old Ruth storms to her feet. Ralph finally considers what she said, and he looks bewildered.Old Ruth: The hell you think you’re speakin’ with?She saunters to the door.Old Ruth: I was nothin’ but nice and you pinched my last nerve. Tell you what. You ain’t gettin’ out. We’re makin’ sure of that. Brittany Snow, The Crummy Shindig "Marilyn" continues with her going into the town center, showing ravishing solo dancing to everyone willing to watch. Emma Thompson, The Queen Who Never Was Alysanne is distraught at Saera’s fall from being a princess, and tells her husband “we have made our daughter a whore” and Jaehaerys, after a few seconds replies coldly “she always was one.” Alysanne begs Jaehaerys to send word to Saera that she is forgiven, that she is free to come home, and Jaehaerys refuses. He says Saera shamed their family, opened her legs for whomever wished, and now debases herself to anyone with coin. “She has chosen her life. She is dead to me. Consider her dead to you as well.” With that, Alysanne quietly gets up and says “Then I shall go and mourn my dead daughters. You have no need of me here.” And she leaves, goes to her own dragon, and flies away from King’s Landing. Tatro: And the winner is... JESSIE BUCKLEY, THE QUEEN WHO NEVER WAS! Jessie Buckley: Oh my - Jimmy, you did pay it forward. This is also the best night of my life! I thought this was going to go to Emma! Emma, I love you I can't CENSORing believe I won this! Oh I gotta thank people, shit! Uh, Michelle, a fabulous director, I wouldn't been able to get to where I was able to go without her. Peter and George, for creating such a great role in Saera. Zendaya: I've played many roles I love over my honestly pretty short career so far, but the one I get the funniest questions about is the one where people are like "I know your voice from somewhere... but what?" This is not a kiddy award; voice-acting is so important, and these are the performances that led some of the biggest and emotionally gut-wrenching movies of last year. Here are the nominees for Best Voice Actor or Actress in a Leading Role. Bill Hader, Invader Zim GIR screams “Hooray for Earth!”, but Zim reminds him that Earth is the enemy. GIR says he understands, but he likes squirrels. Zim is outraged - claiming that the idea that a clearly superior alien species felled by something as pathetic as “germs” is sheer fantasy, and no one could ever believe that. He then starts laughing maniacally. GIR follows him. Zim stops laughing, and GIR continues to laugh, for no real reason. Ashley Johnson, Heremias Marcus and Myria are flying on the Pegasus, Myria pointing out some sights, when they spy an altercation with Stone Men and some people, and flying low, Marcus sees it is Selena and Catherine and says they need to land. They do and Myria tells the Stone Men to stand down as Marcus runs to Selena and hugs her, surprised she’s already here. Selena says it took some finagling, the others are going to Kadranas to scout things out. She hands the bag of things Kristos had to Myria, who says it’ll be put to good use. Marcus tells Selena he is making progress learning about who he is, what he can do, he’d love to show her the place, but Myria interjects to say it is forbidden to outsiders. Selena is glad Marcus is finding himself, but says they need to stop Lavendra before she can cause mass destruction, and asks Marcus to come with her and Catherine. Marcus says he will help, but he has to finish this. There’s a brief silent tension until Selena says ok, “do what you have to do. We’ll be going to Kadranas. George McKay, Tongue Tied Chrom: That first day, just surviving as a frog… That was hard. I’ll admit I was frightened. But now that people are looking for me… (snags another fly) …Aah! Needles sleepily thanks Matilda for everything as Matilda says good night. Needles, half-asleep, says, “Goodnight, Mom,” making Matilda smile. What drew me to Matilda was that it was a black story about motherhood in addition to being about what makes a kid good. Matilda is such a lovely character with a big heart, fearless attitude and a hard worker which is what every great mom is. Originally, a kid Xavier was supposed to be the lead with him growing with the Night Children but Corbin wasn't satisfied with the story and Xavier B. Irving suggested from the storyboards, that Matilda is the heart of the movie, why can't she be the lead. The two pitched it to me and my eyes immediately lit up. I'm grateful for the opportunity to voicing Matilda as well as having be deemed good enough to go toe to toe with the other nominees this year. This is a film that still feels all too close and all too real, and it’s crazy and sick and screwed up that we find ourselves reproducing the same phrases over again - our country is not equal to every single one of us. We cannot let Black people continue to suffer for generations on end for the gains and interests of rich White people. Never again. Black Lives Matter. Thank you to everyone for this wonderful honor! Reveal hidden contents The following preview is of a feature that is in early development. All footage featured is preliminary and may fully represent the final film. The trailer opens on a beach, late at night. The wind starts to pick up, sounding like a low whistle. We arrive at a peculiar sight — a man in his 30s, Will (voiced by George McKay), clutching to the skeletal remains of a two-headed child, emitting a light sob. ”Will?” a female voice says. Will looks up, his eyes widening when he sees Anna (voiced by Imogen Poots) standing there, with a flashlight in hand. She’s just as stunned to see him as he is to see her. Will lets go of the two-headed child and stands up. Anna looks like she’s struggling to let her words out. Anna: Will, I… I thought I— Will: I thought I lost you. An anurid, a tiny, spider-like critter with an elongated neck and a frog-like face, arrives on top of a rock a few yards away. It watches in silence as Will and Anna share an embrace, the waves of the ocean reflected in its marble eyes. We cut to black, and a hushed narration (by James McAvoy in red) speaking: ”Time.” We cut to Anna driving Will away from the shorelines, Will staring out the window in silence and giving the audience a long, hard look at his physically and emotionally damaged state. ”Washed away like sand against the ocean.” Will’s eyes lower slowly. Anna slows the car down, giving her room to reach over and gently touch Will’s cheek, hoping to draw him to her. ” ’Where did it go? Will it ever come back?’ ” “It’s going to be alright, Will,” she says softly. Will doesn’t respond, instead continuing to stare out the window. ” ’Will we ever be young again?’ ” COOKIE PICTURES A N I M A T I O N Will (V.O): I can’t tell if I’ve gone crazy, or if the world around me has stopped making any sense. Cut to Will and Anna at what looks to be a funeral, mourning someone we don't know. The weather is dismal, and the other mourners are blurred out, leaving us unable to see their faces. Despite Will’s attempts to mourn, he finds himself distracted by what looks like shadows gathering around the other mourners (including Anna), all seemingly watching him. Will (V.O.): I see things I shouldn’t. Things that no one else sees. Anna turns to him, confused as to what he’s staring at. We intersperse this with shots of Anna and Will in more intimate moments, such as them cuddling in bed, slowly dancing in the kitchen, or watching the sunset from the balcony. Will (V.O.): And I’m afraid of losing her again because of it. One of the shadows makes its presence known to Will, sticking its hand through the back of Anna’s head and playing with her jaw and tongue, puppeteering her to speak. Anna: It’s rude to stare during a funeral, Will. Stop it. Will, disturbed by what he sees, shifts his eyes away from Anna. “Time.” Producer Michaël Dudok de Wit “We all yearn for more.” Will is rummaging through a box of memories, finding photographs of a younger him together with someone we assume to be an older relative. He suddenly catches a glimpse of an anurid, who darts its way back to the shadows. “Time.” Director Jérémy Clapin “We all want it to pass.” Will is in a railway station, watching his train getting delayed minute after minute. He groans in frustration. It’s then he spots what looks like a parade of people in dressed in ghostly white sheets, running past the corner of his eye. They disappear into a fog. Will (V.O.): I know I’m not crazy. We see Will growing more paranoid, trying to scribble down what it is he sees. Will (V.O.): There’s a whole other world out there. We then see him staring up towards the night sky, witnessing two giant creatures up amongst the stars tossing meteorites at one another. Will is seen holding Anna close. He looks past Anna’s shoulder and freezes up when he sees a ghostly figure sitting by the table just ahead of them. It’s a ghost of Will himself. “Time.” The ghost turns to stare at Will. “It judges us.” Will’s “Ghost”: It’s rude to stare during a funeral, Will. Stop it. Will panics, and he shoves Anna away by instinct, causing her to trip. We cut to what looks to be the end of a heated argument, with Anna fuming at Will while he struggles to explain things to her. Anna: What is wrong with you?! Will: Anna, please, you have to believe me! Anna: I feel like I don’t even know you anymore! “For soon, time…” Anna stands off against Will, recreating this shot from Everything We Miss: Only now, the anurids are all blankly staring at Will (and the camera). “...Will leave us behind.” Will, slowly freaking out, starts backing away from Anna, causing her glare to worsen. The trailer’s score intensifies. Will’s mind deteriorates as the world around him alters rapidly — the sun rises and falls, leaves wither and die, the faces of the people around him keep changing, etc. Will (V.O.): I’m the only one who sees them. Will bumps into ghostly sheets, causing him to scream. Since they remain invisible to everyone else, it looks to them like he’s having a breakdown in the middle of the street. Will (V.O): And now they all want me to suffer. We see Will walking alone through the woods, being followed by living trees. Will (V.O.): They won’t rest… We see Will being chased through an alleyway by an army of shadows. Will (V.O.): …And I can’t stop… Will jumps a fence, only to find himself on a busy street. A blinding light is fast approaching him. Will (V.O.): …Until we’re all out of time. Will realizes too late that it’s a large, honking truck that’s about to run him over. We cut to black just before it hits him. For the final scene of the trailer, Will is back at the beach we first found him, only it’s daytime and cloudy. He sees Anna in the distance, shocked to see her as she is of him. Anna: WILL!! Will: ANNA!! They make a dash toward one another. Will reaches, hoping to embrace Anna. To each of their horrors, however, they start to disintegrate mid-sprint — Anna crumbling like sand, and Will cracking like glass. Just before what remains of them reach one another in a head-on collision, the trailer cuts to black. ” ‘You can’t miss us, Will.’ ” Will is suddenly alone on the beach, his body back whole again. He looks around, as if he had just heard McAvoy’s narration. ” ‘Not that it matters. Time has all but ran out.’ ” Will looks up, and he’s shocked. His body shrinks proportionally to the camera, while his eyes widen in horror. Smash cut to a shadow emerging out of the ocean, now hundreds of stories tall. Its sheer movement causes a tidal wave littered with skeletal remains similar to the two-headed child crash against the shores, sweeping Will up with them. Cut to black.
