China is releasing 4 US/English-language movies on the same day. Another attempt to show Chinese movies in a better light. So US movies will have a tough time to make any serious money with a schedule like this:

Chinese movies would have had the 2 weeks prior to Taken 2 coming out (one of those weeks being national holiday) to make some serious money, and when everyone goes back to work and school, the Hollywood fare comes out.

I don't think it can make $2m per day from Monday to Sunday. It will be less on some days. But anyway, if you are saying $18.5m, that sounds great.

15 mil for the opening week is pretty good IMO I mean this is a mid level movie guys ( budgeted at 30 mil ) If it manages to make 30 mil or close in China that would be a pretty big success

Based on above projection, Looper's total gross in China could end up with matching DOM OW --- 21M, if lucky. Its run, as well as these local titles's, will be basicaly over as long as the holiday ends and other foreign movies, especially Taken 2, hit theaters.Taken 2 could do more than Looper.
