POLYLOVE
Local comdey Lost in Thailand looks to post a strong opening this week via 5 days, knocking down Pi and 1942. Prediction for LiT: Wed 20M Thu 17m Fri 25m Sat 50m Sun 43m 155M OW, $24.5M With great wom/legs, it should end around 450M yuan, #1 December release and #2 this year's new year holiday season release behind LoP. Although I hope it can do huge, this is impossible. Pi is still strong and CZ12 will cut its leg. 200M yuan is the target.
Olive
I think 90-110M for LiT is a good range.

Pi is still strong and CZ12 will cut its leg.200M yuan is the target.I think LiT will produce huge pressure on CZ12 and the other two. It will cut Pi's legs.150M OW probably is a little high since it is the best possible case. Edited December 10, 2012 by firedeep
POLYLOVE
LiT's only advantage against CZ12 and other movies is its comedy theme. But nothing else, unless it can generate tremendous WoM as LoP did. It is a low-budget movie, and 150M yuan would be fine.Btw, pre-sales looks not bad. Olive
Yep, LiT may be prodced by only 15-20M yuan; 200M yuan total is amazing for it.

dezorz
No ... It will drop ... sub 15% probably. Online tracking is not accurate. It has about 500 more shows tracked online compared with last Friday, +40%. So it seems to be increasing but not. National wide, LoP screen count has just increased about 10% from last weekend. Mon-Thu this week (62M yuan) is about -13% down from last Mon-Thu (71M yuan), for instance. So how it ended? Did LoP drop during last weekend? ´20th Century Fox reports that Life of Pi continues its excellent run in China. The film pulled an estimated $14.6 million this weekend, up an outstanding 6 percent over last weekend.´
John Marston
Come on, after all being said and done, you still believe 90m was possible for TASM?Could have happened. Why not ?

A Marvel Fanboy
Could have happened. Why not ?TASM disappointed in all mature markets. And not that big increases in increasing markets. $90M is too much an increase even for China.

Bob Violence
Hulk got a mainland release in October 2003. According to this, it only made about 8m yuan and placed outside the yearly top 20. But then I don't know how reliable these numbers are (they're certainly not very specific). Kind of interesting to note that Hulk falls right between Daredevil and X2 on the import chart. A Marvel Fanboy
Where can I find the reliable source? Their 162.4M is right. Movieranking's weibo: http://tieba.baidu.com/p/2038190578 China Film Newspaper "中国电影报“ data now is not right, not usable anymore. Entgroup weekly numbers is about right [they now get weekly data from the National Film Development Funds Management Committee (NFDFMC)专资办] but their cume numbers is not, since hundred second tie-er theaters only report box office a few days later after Sunday. You can also get accurate weekly top 5 numbers here later Tuesday: http://www.chinafilm.org.cn/
