vc2002
Looks like TA will just miss $100m as MIB3 is coming to take most of the its screens. I think MIB4 will do TA-like numbers.
A Marvel Fanboy
Looks like 18M is where MIB3 OW should land, far from the predicted 23M.dont think there will be MIB3 after MIB3 just doing mediocre numbers around the world.
SentryTrans
Underperformed ...The Friday morning performance of MIB3 is not good, even much weaker than POTC4.
SentryTrans
Looks like 18M is where MIB3 OW should land, far from the predicted 23M.18m is too low. That means MIB3's average attendance per show would be lower than JC. A Marvel Fanboy
If MIB3 average attendance per show in OW could reach more than 65, it will top POTC4. Check the first page. We have POTC4 OD at 36M yuan while the OW at 145M yuan. POTC4 still holds the 3 days opening week RECORD in China. A Marvel Fanboy
Firedeep, May 25th 23:00pm (GMT+8) updates: Sony and Will Smith's sci-fi comedy tentpole Men In Black 3 blowed into China theatres Thursday midnight and managed strong MI4 level midnight performance (3M+ yuan likely). Despite not too good Friday matinee shows, MIB3 started to pick up with evening. Overally, the opening day number should be well more than 30M+ yuan ($5M) and considering more accurate numbers later may be even more than 36M yuan, which means that comfortably puts it on a good track to overtake the 3 days opening week record (145M yuan, $22M) in China, which was set when Johnny Depp's Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides opened last May 20th. Possible MIB3 OW break down: Low end: Fri 35M Sat 55M Sun 45M 135M yuan, 2nd biggest 3 days opening week, 13th biggest all time opening week. high end: Fri 40M Sat 65M Sun 50M 155M yuan, biggest 3 days opening week, 10th biggest all time opening week. All after all, it looks like our MIB3 prediction is becoming true. The latest tracking and numbers will be updated several times during the weekend here in the China box office thread, please make sure to check in.
