Yeahh likely local currency and they're also not counting the supposed global total of Hello Love Goodbye (THR reported $17M) . Exchange rates will really widen the gap between Inside Out 2 ($1 = around PHP58) and Frozen 2 ($1 = around PHP51) .

Sorry to say this I strongly doubt Philippines are richer than Malaysia in general. No wonder movie collapse after their OW here. The ticket price is so unreasonable for general public. Sorry to say this I strongly doubt Philippines are richer than Malaysia in general Yes, it is super expensive and the income gap between rich vs. poor could arguably be widening BUT there is still a demo willing to pay for a theatrical experience and watch them show up again for Deadpool & Wolverine. As shown by our top grossing films of all time, they are really into superheroes, Disney, & A-list local actors/love-teams. They are really not just into Dune or Furiosa (even Oppenheimer - and that one made good money actually here) and the local films released on 1st half of the year weren't Filipinos' taste. 24 minutes ago, titanic2187 said: No wonder movie collapse after their OW here. The ticket price is so unreasonable for general public. Aside from some exceptions, Philippines tend to be really frontloaded - particularly on films which are fan-heavy or super buzzy right from the start. It's also more of Inside Out 2 burning off demand quickly from opening on a Holiday and an extended opening weekend due to Monday being a holiday. And it's actually dropping better than the first here which dropped hard too on 2nd/3rd week.

Inside Out 2 comp would give it a ₱94.6M ($1.6M) opening day gross which is insane. IMAX sales remain stronger. . We have to note though that this could be more frontloaded as a fan-driven film and IO2 was boosted by the Holiday. Did a quick scan on regional malls and sales are showing up but not yet as strong as IO2. On the other hand, the opening weekend could make up for the gap between DP3 & IO2. For reference, Deadpool 2 made $5.3M here back in 2019 while Logan did $3.9M back in 2017. Would be glad if this really opens big too. Some advance screenings will happen on July 23rd. Next to track is local film Un/Happy For You. Edited July 21 by icebearraven additional info
