peludo
THR says this: "In Spain, Warner Bros. Espana’s release of Lo Impossible (The Impossible), director Juan Antonio Bayona’s action adventure costarring Naomi Watts and Ewan McGregor, dominated the market for the third consecutive weekend, drawing $8.7 million from 643 screens and lifting its market cume to $34.3 million." I have commented in International thread too: I suppose 8.7 million is for the whole week and the weekend will be about 6-6.5 million (about just 30% drop)
BCN
Yes one of the two numbers are wrong, but the first estimates in twitter this week are:Argo: 750,000 €Hotel Transylvania: 2,800,000 €The Impossible: 6,700,000 €

peludo
Yes one of the two numbers are wrong, but the first estimates in twitter this week are: Argo: 750,000 € Hotel Transylvania: 2,800,000 € The Impossible: 6,700,000 € That would be a 4-5% drop . And if by last Sunday it had 20 million €, what would be the cume today, maybe about 29 million €? Titanic is done

Is Titanic's € cume in danger of being beaten?About Titanic, If the 6,7M€ this weekend are confirmed of course The Impossible is going to surpass the Titanic cume, Avatar is another thing Edited October 28, 2012 by BCN
peludo
Good hold.So what are we looking at when concerning its final gross? Is Titanic's € cume in danger of being beaten?Titanic is done. If I am not wrong, Titanic grossed 38 million in 1998 and 3.5 million this year with the 3D re-release, so the total is about 41.5 million, maybe a bit more (I do not have the exactly data). It is quite difficult to predict where will The impossible land because of the incredible drops. It needs about x3 multipler from this weekend gross to reach Titanic and the multiplier of this movie will be about 5 (from OW record). If the numbers are confirmed and having into account the competition will grow next weeks (Skyfall comes next Wednesday) I am thinking in 45 million € (58.5 million $). Avatar is out of this world (73 million €) Edited October 28, 2012 by peludo
lab276
And what is all that in admissions?
peludo
And what is all that in admissions?Last weekend it had 19.8 million € and 2.77 million admissions, so 7.1 € is the average ticket cost for this movie. With that average, 45 million € would be reached with about 6.3 million admissions. It would be #11 all-time in admissions behind Titanic (about 11.3 million), Avatar (9.5), E.T (8.1), Doctor Zhivago (7.2), FOTR (7), Star Wars (6.9), ROTK (6.8), The sixth sense (6.7), El padrecito (6.6), TTT and The Others (6.4). The impossible would tie with HP1 in 11th rank. Edited October 29, 2012 by peludo
