Noctis
Yeah, I'm taking a pass on the Alfred Awardz. You're jerking off TDKR way more than I ever did for DH2... Complete snub for Perks of Being a Wallflower? Not a single nomination? ABSURD. Searching for Sugar Man? The documentary about that musician? Boring story. Christopher Nolan for Best Director? I'm a fan of TDKR (although I haven't seen it in ages), but Nolan's name should be very far from a list of best directors. He pulled off some great scenes, but a lot of the film was extremely messy, and that boring ass lieutenant really brought the film down. He could have been cut from the film and everything would have been better. I defended TDKR very much, and I will defend a lot about it, yet the more I think about it, the more I have problems with it. Also...best adapted screenplay? Really? "No, I came to stop you." Yeah, that line alone immediately disqualifies it from any BAS list. I have no qualms with it being in the Best Picture (if it's ten) and Best Ensemble (although Marion Cotillard must have been stoned like a motherfucker during her death scene and the action scene preceding it). But now I question whether or not you're stoned. Of all the things, you nominated for TDKR in sound? REALLY? And Best Score? Hans Zimmer is boring as hell. There are a few great tracks (particularly the end), but most of it is just a retread of TDK.
The Dark Alfred
I loved TDKR. It's one of the most ambitious project of the past decades from a technical standpoint. You watch that film in IMAX and all the technicians will agree that it's sound effects are out of this world. Same for Pfister's camera work. Zimmer's score was also great. A film like that to get 12 noms is pretty standard. You had DH2 to win everything, TDKR won't come on top in most of the categories. Also why do I get attacked on a site which voted TDKR the film of the year. It won't be my #1 Perks was decent, but nothing unique about it. Nothing indicates that it MUST have been nominated for something. Searching For Sugar Man was awesome, no wonder it won nearly doc awards this year. ChD
Hans Zimmer really needs some appreciation for his work on The Dark Knight Trilogy, and on other movies, too. One of the best composers that are currently out there, in my opinion. He earns at least a nomination here, if not somewhere else.
