Before it was one of the best tv series ever, it was a terrific movie based on a book of a high school team in Texas. Less about the actual games themselves and more about the players, coach, their families and the town. The scene where Boobie Miles the star running back with dreams of going pro finds out he will never play again but doesn't know how to do anything else is devastating. And there is a big game but it doesn't go the typical route and that makes it better. A

Not as good as the tv show but still one of the best sports movies ever. Its acutually a very emotional film.

Wow, Peter Berg is actually a really really good acting director it seems. This just may be the best football ever, it most definitely captures the drive, pressure, and life style this kids go through. The filmmaking in this is just fantastic. Great pacing and amazing cinematography.
