CJohn
What is the meaning of the insane after credits scene ? I assume Hannibal and Will are alive as the table has two more places set. Edited August 30, 2015 by CJohn

4815162342
There is an interview with Bryan Fuller about the finale over at IGN. http://www.ign.com/articles/2015/08/30/hannibal-bryan-fuller-on-the-huge-events-in-the-season-3-finale-and-continued-hopes-for-the-future?utm_source=IGN%20hub%20page&utm_medium=IGN%20(front%20page)&utm_content=1&utm_campaign=Blogroll&abthid=55e2719164f27f3c0c000012
4815162342
^ Main takeaway was that Fuller & Co. definitely geared the finale to work as both a season and series finale, and that Season 4, if greenlit, would have likely wrapped up anything and everything involving Will and Alana, with the intention and hope of diving into Silence of the Lambs territory in a fifth season (assuming they ever got the rights issues worked out). I assumed that post-credits scene had different meaning (she did it to herself). And I don't want a season 4. It was a great ending.
4815162342
As a series finale, I think the best way to look at Bedelia's dinner is that she did it to herself. Though since they filmed everything prior to the cancellation notification, it was meant to be as a hint that Hannibal had done it to her if Season 4 was approved. This is true, but in the interviews the showrunners still held out hope for a Season 4 which is why they Sherlock Holmes'd the Will/Hannibal ending.
