^ Main takeaway was that Fuller & Co. definitely geared the finale to work as both a season and series finale, and that Season 4, if greenlit, would have likely wrapped up anything and everything involving Will and Alana, with the intention and hope of diving into Silence of the Lambs territory in a fifth season (assuming they ever got the rights issues worked out).

Good one. I assumed that post-credits scene had different meaning (she did it to herself).

And I don't want a season 4. It was a great ending.

As a series finale, I think the best way to look at Bedelia's dinner is that she did it to herself.

 

Though since they filmed everything prior to the cancellation notification, it was meant to be as a hint that Hannibal had done it to her if Season 4 was approved.

I think they knew it is going to be an end. And that's why they shot and edited it that way.

This is true, but in the interviews the showrunners still held out hope for a Season 4 which is why they Sherlock Holmes'd the Will/Hannibal ending.
