I wonder where Gitesh is getting 400 million from? With a HBO release in a month and a half I just can't see that happening. Maybe I'll be proven wrong though.

I think people underrate how well uncharted has done. I swear everyone was so sure it was going to flop.

That would be a really good Saturday. Better than I expected.

They might have to take it back to 90s light hearted Batman if they want kids back. Those films were entrenched in pop culture. Remember Seal’s hit song?
that song was too damn good for that movie.

Also Zendaya's role will definitely be a lot bigger in this film. Denis seems to love her lmao. He'll probably beef it up from the book.

I'm hoping the boxoffice for this will be better than the first with (hopefully) less effects of the pandemic and no immediate HBO max release.

Indeed. So drop 10% to account for the weaker holds, then add $70-120M for China. Maybe $725-775M global final? We will see.
mmm that seems a bit disappointing. I know it's a "Pandemic" but the market is pretty empty.

Well they can’t even see it here in the UK, it’s rated a 15 (they can’t go accompanied either).
So I’m sure WB are fully aware, they haven’t targeted kids with this film.
I guess I don't know if DC's direction is good for the long term potential of Batman. The generation of kids growing up legitimately don't care about Batman lol.

Well, NWH was at ~$303M through opening Friday. So if it played out as NWH has then we'd be looking at a worldwide final of.....
$700M.Is that good??? idk
-
If I were DC I would be a bit concerned about kids not having interest in Batman. It's important for the future of the brand. My 12 year niece had absolutely no interest in seeing Batman but she went opening day for NWH. Do they have cartoons out?

You are being naive. China is not the problem. US and Europe will be.
Also, WTF at the EW cover. Compare that to every other MCU special cover and I think the sexism is pretty clear.
2 months from now? We’ll see
-
Maybe I’m naive but the title is weird there’s literally I reason this needs to move. It’s not being released for almost 2 months lmao. The virus is already declining in Wuhan...

with so much of the audience being under 25 it's obvious that making it rated R was a mistake lolol
-
I said from the very beginning the R-rating was a Big mistake but was shut down. NOW people are agreeing lol. It made no sense to give it an R rating.

Bad Boys is American-centric, has a diverse cast in Miami
How is Bad Boys more American centric then a film like 21 Jump Street?

I don’t get how bad boys is “American centric” lmao

The 2004 Phantom of the Opera is in the 30s on Rotten Tomatoes and got a Best Picture - Musical or Comedy nomination from the Globes. They love big budget musicals, so I would agree the relative lack of Cats love is concerning.
Yep. I can’t remember the last time a big budget musical with huge stars missed a nomination.

I don't even count "twitter complaining" as real complaining anymore. If a controversy is 'real' it'll make its way off Twitter and will then be something worth looking at.
But it’s not just twitter this is in many of the reviews as well lol

The fact that this missed a best picture nomination at globes is not a good sign of the movies quality.

It looks good but I already know the media for this will be a mess when it comes out.
